Plus, it's been very ... liberating to gobble down fruit in the morning for the first time in a gazillion years! I've been stunned to find that not only did it not send me into the hyperglycemia coma that I've long assumed it would, it seemed to have no impact on my blood sugar at all -- less than the protein/fat breakfast options I've been doing forever! And my energy isn't plummeting mid-morning. BUT, I'm starving. So I eat more fruit. Until lunch. Then I begin that thing where you don't know what you should freakin eat next LOL 🙂
I don't have a weight issues and stay very trim & fit. But at 48, hormones goin wacko. And, like I said, I haven't eaten much fruit at all since my 20s. So I reckon I'll see how all this fruit plays into any weight gain.
4 stars because not sure I'm buyin all that reasoning about why we're not carnivores, herbivores, etc. Wha? He mighta made that up. LOL
The thing I like most about this book, is that it explains everything to you and in a way that makes sense. It's not just a boring "diet" book promising you a flatter tummy in three weeks or some other absurd claim. It is such a simple concept, eating fresh fruit and vegetables and eliminating processed foods, meats and such. I'm slowly working my way into this and I'm shocked at how much better I feel already. Of course when people hear what it is all about, they think it's crazy, until they read it. I cannot recommend this book enough to people. I'm glad I found it when I did and am hoping to lessen the severity of my lupus symptoms if not get rid of them all together.
