I love chocolate but am avoiding sugar - and I'm also lactose-intolerant. I can buy chocolate chips that are either sugar-free or dairy-free, but they're rarely both, and they cost a fortune. It took a while for the obvious to occur to me: make my own!
I found a quick and easy recipe for sugar-free chocolate chips on the "All Day I Dream About Food" web site, requiring only unsweetened chocolate, food grade cocoa butter (I used
100% Organic Cacao Butter 16oz by Tisano
), powdered xylitol (I used Ideal confectionary sugar, which I originally bought on Amazon but can't find now), cocoa powder, and vanilla. One batch was plenty to fill two of these molds and didn't begin to use up the ingredients. Granted I end up with chocolate chunks rather than perfectly shaped chips, but who cares? These molds are cheap and perfect for the job.

These are great molds. It's a single mold that makes 3 chocolate bars as pictured. I poured my melted chocolate mixture (coconut oil, agave, cocoa powder) at room temperature and let set in the freezer for 40 mins. The bars came out perfect; I didn't even need to twist the mold to get them out. There is no need to pour a hot mixture in the molds, just wait until the mixture is cool if you are worried about the molds melting. I'm going to buy another one these since I'm planning on bringing in some to work.

The only complaint is that after the first use the bars tend to stick instead of "pop" out like they did the first go around. That aside the product is fully functional and is good for the price and serves its purpose.

Easy to use. Make sure to grease the inside with butter or non-stick spray before using. Otherwise the chocolates are difficult to remove. Definitely dish-washer safe. Pretty much all you could expect from this.

I bought this thinking it would be silicon. I was surprised it doesn't look like more than plastic. I hope it's at least non-toxic (without pthalates). I think the product should have a clear picture and description. I use it, but I'm not sure I trust it's health standards.

This works perfectly. Definitely not the luxury version but does the job and the cost was minimal. I love making my own chocolate.

I just made chocolates last night. This is a handy little mold for home made candy bars. It was smaller than I expected it to be, but it works great for the recipe I have which calls for 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, and 2-3 Tb of liquid sweetener.

This works just fine. The plastic is not flimsy. You can fit about a 1/4 cup of chocolate chips (before melting) into each bar. Just stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes and flex both corners, the chocolate bars pop out nice and easy. I have been concocting some awesome confectionery treats! Thanks!
