Update January 20, 2014: I have had mine over two years and use 3 or 4 bottles a month (5 gallon bottles). So far no problems.
Water is still cold. Heater worked well when I used it, but I rarely did and turned it off to save power over a year ago.
I believe the pump may be a bit noisier than when it was new. This is to be expected of a mechanical device. Still it's not what I consider obnoxious or terrible for a pump. No problem talking next to it. When it runs after filling a coffee pot, it doesn't take long to fill and turn off.

Considering all the bad reviews posted, I've been very lucky. Most water coolers seems to have bad reviews though. I bought mine in a warehouse store and the box was pristine, no dents or rips in it. Appeared to have been handled well at each stop along it's way. Maybe that's the secret.

First Review September 6, 2011:
I had for two weeks and so far no complaints. Materials, feel of buttons and overall quality seems on par or better than others. I've noticed no plastic taste in the water as some of these have. You can turn off/on hot water, cold water and the LED night light. There is a switch on back for each.

The water flow rate is about average for a water cooler. When filling a coffee pot You can hold down all three buttons for much quicker fill. The water temp with all three ends up being cool, not cold or hot.

Loading water is easy. Open water, stick in tube and push down on the bottle lid/cover. There is a hook in the interior side of the door to hang the tube when switching bottles. The soft plastic water bottle lid/cover clicks on to the bottle top securely over the lip/groove on of the water bottle.

Having the bottle in the bottom makes this far less likely to tip over.

I have owned this water cooler for about a year now. Still works perfectly. I really get aggravated when I read reviews from any product that is obviously written by someone who didn't do what the manual tells them to do. People who say they have a plastic taste in their water didn't follow the sanitizing instructions before using. Do yourself a favor, if you buy this machine (which I recommend) take the 15min and follow the instructions in the manual. I did and I have never had a problem with the water having a plastic taste.

This machine gets multiple daily usage in my house. All the kids use this as their drinking water and to water down juice. I use a 5 gallon poland spring or Monadnock spring bottle. I know that it also accepts 3 gallon water bottles. I have never tried a rectangular bottle in it. I cannot tell you if it would fit.

As far as the "noisiness" of this product. Yes, the reservoir is fairly small. I'd say about a gallon total (hot and cold reservoir tanks [room temperature water does not use a reservoir tank]). It does refill ALMOST every time you use it. The small reservoir size makes it easier for the machine to keep it cool and get it cool faster with less energy. The noise is moderate in my opinion and it lasts all of 20 seconds.

This has 3 water temperatures; hot, room temperature, and cold. The HOT is just below boiling temperature. It will burn you or any children who come into contact with it. There is a child safety buttom that prevents one from simply pushing the button and potentially burning themselves. There is also an on off switch that prevents the machine from making hot water altogether.
The room temperature is just that.

We bought one of these, used it for two months and the spigot starting dripping. Then, a month later we noticed it leaking water from the base. Cleaned up the water...it returned. We returned the unit thinking it was flawed and bought another. Repeat story above. Returned unit and are now in the market for a really good unit...

Purchased this at a Sam's club, water is not very cold and like another reviewer, the labels worn off after just a few days. It also seems to run alot so I'm not sure how energy efficient this is. Going to look for one that has better reviews and return the one I have to Sam's.

Two weeks after I bought the unit the seal gave out so I had the pleasure of dealing with the worst customer service department I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. One month later I finally received a replacement seal. However, the pump sounds like an 18-wheeler using the motor to brake while going downhill and the cooling cycle sounds like an old metal kettle at full boil on the stove. We close the kitchen door so we don't hear the unit from the upstairs bedroom. This is the worst piece of junk that I have ever bought. DO NOT BUY ONE!!!! This one will soon be in the garbage dump where it belongs!

WORST PRODUCT THAT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS -0- THEY TOLD ME TO WATCH A VIDEO ONLINE AND WHEN I TOLD HER THAT I HAD, SHE SAID THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU. JUST RETURN THE ITEM, "WE HAVE HAD LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS PRODUCT. SO SORRY FOR YOUR TROUBLE." CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? I AM JUST IN SHOCK. THIS UNIT GAVE ME HOT WATER BUT NO COLD WATER. I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW IN HOPES THAT IT WILL SAVE SOMEONE ELSE FROM THIS HEADACHE. I AM ONE SAD PERSON TODAY.
