Water is still cold. Heater worked well when I used it, but I rarely did and turned it off to save power over a year ago.
I believe the pump may be a bit noisier than when it was new. This is to be expected of a mechanical device. Still it's not what I consider obnoxious or terrible for a pump. No problem talking next to it. When it runs after filling a coffee pot, it doesn't take long to fill and turn off.
Considering all the bad reviews posted, I've been very lucky. Most water coolers seems to have bad reviews though. I bought mine in a warehouse store and the box was pristine, no dents or rips in it. Appeared to have been handled well at each stop along it's way. Maybe that's the secret.
First Review September 6, 2011:
I had for two weeks and so far no complaints. Materials, feel of buttons and overall quality seems on par or better than others. I've noticed no plastic taste in the water as some of these have. You can turn off/on hot water, cold water and the LED night light. There is a switch on back for each.
The water flow rate is about average for a water cooler. When filling a coffee pot You can hold down all three buttons for much quicker fill. The water temp with all three ends up being cool, not cold or hot.
Loading water is easy. Open water, stick in tube and push down on the bottle lid/cover. There is a hook in the interior side of the door to hang the tube when switching bottles. The soft plastic water bottle lid/cover clicks on to the bottle top securely over the lip/groove on of the water bottle.
Having the bottle in the bottom makes this far less likely to tip over.Read more ›
This machine gets multiple daily usage in my house. All the kids use this as their drinking water and to water down juice. I use a 5 gallon poland spring or Monadnock spring bottle. I know that it also accepts 3 gallon water bottles. I have never tried a rectangular bottle in it. I cannot tell you if it would fit.
As far as the "noisiness" of this product. Yes, the reservoir is fairly small. I'd say about a gallon total (hot and cold reservoir tanks [room temperature water does not use a reservoir tank]). It does refill ALMOST every time you use it. The small reservoir size makes it easier for the machine to keep it cool and get it cool faster with less energy. The noise is moderate in my opinion and it lasts all of 20 seconds.
This has 3 water temperatures; hot, room temperature, and cold. The HOT is just below boiling temperature. It will burn you or any children who come into contact with it. There is a child safety buttom that prevents one from simply pushing the button and potentially burning themselves. There is also an on off switch that prevents the machine from making hot water altogether.
The room temperature is just that.Read more ›
