Worm Follower gear
Just fixed my 600 series Kitchenaid. So far so good. This was the only gear that seemed to be shot. This is the one that sits below the cone shaped gear on the vertical axis. I had to take apart my mixer, clean it, and then wait for this part. I kept the different sections of gears with accompaning washers, etc in separate little zip locks bags with a little rice to keep them dry and rust free while waiting for this part. Before starting this project; lay down an old towel, have plastic gloves, tons of q-tips, rubbing alcohol, paper towels and a nearby garbage can. Don't loose the little balls out of the washer bearing. They do come out.Don't forget to purchase *food grade* grease.FYI, if you use a youtube video to repair your mixer, some videos leave out a round smooth cylindrical piece that sits above the cone shaped gear. AdamDIY's video shows this piece (the round smooth cylindrical piece) but eReplacementParts's video doesn't show this piece. Also Adam's video has you unscrew the electronic board, which I found to be an unnecessary step.

The part was as advertised worked just fine. I did not replace the shaft part of the planetary , which i probably should have done, but I wasnt even sure replacing the obviously worn out gear would do the trick so I kept the expenses to a minimum. It did work and will be repair/replacing the other parts as needed....should be soon since i was not able to clear out all the old grease, 99% so wear and tear will accelerate no doubt.
anyway, the part is just fine. came on time and no shipping no tax made the whole process super. I would certainly use this same place for the next repair/replace jobs. Price was within a fair range ,given there were no extra shipping or handling nonsense added. the price was the bottom line and i like that .will do business with them again.......and I can tell by the many forum posts ive read over the past year on this mixer's high maintenance needs.

Very nice quality to fix a not so old worn gear. It is true, they don't make things as they use too, we have an older kitchen aid stand up mixer that still runs great, we bought a new bigger professional series that only ran for a couple of years before the gear wore out, but this replacement worked great and was easy to install.
Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2019
The old gear was difficult to remove. needed to pry it out with a screwdriver.
This should have been an indication that the new gear would be a very tight fit.
When I put the new gear on it slid half way down and then was VERY tight and I could not get it down further by hand

**** TIP ***

I cut a 1 foot piece of small sized PVC pipe (1" pipe?) and tapped the gear down with a rubber mallet.
EASY as pie. the gear settled down with only 3-4 hits of the mallet perfectly.

Hope this helps you all :)

Our Kitchenaid mixer gave up the ghost mixing bread dough. I watched a video on YouTube on how to replace the gear and in about 30 minutes I was back in business. All you need is a Phillips head screw driver, some paper towels, and a snap ring plier (if you want to make it easy on yourself). Much cheaper than a new mixer and even a novice “do it yourselfers” can make this repair.
Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2016
Would be 5 stars, but the original gear was really badly damaged and NONE of the other gears showed any sign of wear. The new gear appears to be a redesigned part so I will withhold upping my review to five stars depending on how long this one lasts.

And they don't tell you in the product description that you MUST buy a can of grease, and luckily there are multiple YouTube videos that tell you how to repair it and give you the part number for the grease. (Grease also purchased on Amazon but cost more than the gear since the only size is enough to repair the mixer at least 5 times!) But still the repair was easy with the video guide and far cheaper for anyone who is handy with a task like this than taking it to a repair shop, if you can still find a repair shop without shipping!

I have used my Kitchenaid a lot over the past 8 years. When it stopped turning (my fault for using too much whole wheat without a sufficient amount of liquid), my husband took it apart, realized this gear needed replacing, ordered it, and fixed it two days later when the part came in prime shipping. Amazing. It works like a champ.
