Chicago Fire 4 Seasons 2013

Season 1
4.8 out of 5 stars (614) IMDb 7.9/10

The pressure to perform on such a high level has a way of taking a personal toll, sometimes putting team memebers from the Truck and the specially trained Rescue Squad at odds with each other. Despite any differences, this is an extended family, and when it's "go time", everyone inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other.

I love this show! And not just because I live in Chicago, and my husband is a Chicago Firefighter. I love it because the show is well written, they keep a lot of us Chicagoans working as extras on the show, and the cast and crew are a great bunch of people. Some people complain about realism, but they have to understand that the show isn't a documentary. It is a drama! The show is exciting, dramatic, sometimes funny and lighthearted. I have never missed an episode. I really hope they have many, many more seasons. Can't wait to get this DVD.

I thought the fire and rescue scenes were great but, the firehouse dramas are a little distracting. When I was growing up in Glendale, California, I spent much of my time at the fire stations, there were nine, or at the police station. There was no heavy drama; we were all part of a big family. Before I moved away at 30, I had experienced the loss of three(3) of these families, two firefighters and one police officer. Those were the only times that heavy drama was seen. I am 60 now and since then I have lost 32 family members from fire companies in 17 states and even more police family members. I will continue to watch and enjoy "Chicago Fire" for as long as it is available. Chicago Fire brings back all the good times I had growing up.

If you ever get a chance, drop by a firehouse and meet the family.

Loving this show and looking forward to another season. I didn't start watching it on TV until the 5th or 6th episode, but once I did, I immediately went to Amazon and bought the earlier episodes. I hope this one sticks around for a while.

When I watched the Pilot episode for the first time, I fell in love with the show. I was convinced that it was going to get canceled, but I decided that I might as well enjoy it while it was on. Much to my surprise, NBC gave a full season order.

Now, having watched the episodes several times, I clearly see that the episodes get better over time. There are little moments in the earlier episodes now that bug me, but I appreciate those episodes for what they are.

It's good and entertaining tv. I can't comment on the realism of the show because I'm not a firefighter, but from an outsider's perspective, it looks realistic. I do very much like that they employ several advisors who are retired and current firefighters and use several real CFD firefighters for extras on the show.

I am looking forward to see what comes out of any upcoming episodes. Watch the pilot episode. If you don't like it, watch one of the middle episodes. If you don't like it then, you won't like it ever. Give it a try. It's worth at least that!

Quite Entertaining. Good character development for a television show. Plots are well thought out. A mixture of serious and lighter themes.

It just keeps getting better. This is one I hope the network is wise enough to renew. And Amazon, THANKS FOR CAPTIONS. It took you long enough, but now I can share this great show with my hearing-impaired daughter.

I started watching this series only after its spin-off, Chicago PD came on this season, and only because they had cross over episodes and I felt I needed to see Chicago Fire to keep up. I am so glad I did.

I remember those old shows about firehouses and EMTs and found them kind of cheesy back in the day (bored sexy women getting their toes stuck in tub faucets and the like) This is a totally different animal.

The fires, rescues, and EMT calls are fascinating and compelling. The cast is mostly beautiful. I was in a near-fatal collision with a drunk driver in 2008 and the fire men used the jaws of life to rescue me from my crushed Jeep. The firefighters were wonderful and helped me keep calm, but I can honestly say none of them looked like the guys on this show.

And the emergency part is only half of the show. There is a lot going on with the characters, whose lives we get a glimpse into, relationships among the characters, and the cross over with Chicago PD, which means characters from one show often pop up on the other show.

I love this show, especially considering it didn't look compelling enough to draw me in when it began last year in season one, which is unfortunate because it's really a good show.

If you like cop shows, you would probably like this show. It has the same excitement, but instead of cases and criminals features different exciting emergencies each episode.

I'm really looking forward to season 2. This is the best series NBC has put together in a while. Excellent story lines.
