When Steve first shared with me his idea for this book, I thought it was an ambitious project. However, knowing Steve like I do, I knew that he was intellectually and theologically up to the task.

Nevertheless, writing what could be coined as the sequel to C.S. Lewis' "Screwtape Letters" was going to take a Herculian effort. Lewis' classic work is among the most read books in the Christian genre.

When Steve sent me his first chapter to see if he was on the right track, my only response was dismay that that was all he had for me to read.

It grips you immediately and you will go into sleep deprivation because you "just have to read one more chapter!"

This novel will enlighten, enrage, and entertain you. It deserves more than five stars.

It is an instant Christian classic on the level of C.S. Lewis' "Screwtape Letters" and "The Chronicles of Narnia."

Unbelievable all too true commentary on today's world. A must read for anyone looking to understand where we are and how we have gotten here. Frankly devastating to my heart. I'm still holding out "you know who" knows who his children are and will still keep reaching over the edge of the boat to grab those drowning in the water and pull them aboard.

As someone who walked away from the evangelical Christian Faith I was so committed to for over 20 years, this book is a virtual siren song for me to return home. Deace, writing in the character of a demon named Lord Nefarious masterfully takes us right to the edge to peer down into the abyss inhabited by the legions of the damned in order to reveal Hell's detailed plan to destroy the greatest country in the history of the world. I believe it's important to mention that I'm not a Christian because to Deace's credit the book is unapologeitcally written from the traditional orthodox Christian understanding of the biblical text which informs the worldview he so consistently demonstrates his sincere commitment to everyday in his professional and I'm sure also his private life. Thus my point is that even someone like myself who doesn't necessarily buy the entire back story will nontheless have a difficult time coming up with a logical and rational alternative behind the indisputable historical facts which are laid out in rather chilling and quite disturbing detail. For a good deal of the material presented to,be fully appreciated, being both historically and theologically literate is a desirable prerequisite. It also wouldn't hurt to have a working knowledge and overall familiarity with many of the key figures in ecclesiastical history as well.Read more ›

Steve Deace provides the theological "why" of the mess we're in. Mark Levin does an excellent job to give us the facts and the history of our Constitution and Country in his books, and Deace gives the real reasons behind the fall of man, and our Country, which is made up of fallen men, who have chosen to ignore the structure set up by our Founders to mitigate the will of fallen man on a government. In a society that has chosen to be led by emotions rather than reason, this book provides an emotional grab as a conduit to provide the Truth. I will admit, as an older person, who couldn't care less about pop culture, some of the specific names used in the book as examples were unknown to me, and may place a shorter "shelf-life" on this excellent work; C.S. Lewis did similar things in the Screwtape Letters, but the references were usually more generic. But if we are to reach a pop-culture generation with the Truth, then this work should hit its mark very well. It is a very interesting read, and packs some very deep truths into a format that lets you look at them from a wholly different perspective. It's not the way that we would typically teach such basic Truth and philosophy, but the approach lets the Truth into your thinking and soul in a way that can have a profound effect, particularly for a generation that is incapable or unwilling to even look at Truth that hasn't been filtered through their world of simplified instant self-gratification.

If you want a book that will shake your soul, read Steve Deace's book, A Nefarious Plot. It looks at reality through satire. It shows what happens to a country, a civilization, a mind when it rejects the moral clarity of God and pledges it's willful ignorance to the sickness and the new plague known as moral relativism.

The worst thing we as human beings can do is say, "well I am okay because I am not as bad as the other person, they are really messed up." Good gawd we have become so thumbed down as a nation, we know longer can recognize what real evil is, let alone deal with it.

What the leftists have done to this country is mind boggling. Their twisted ideology has become the foundation of a cult which constantly tells us everything is acceptable. There is no such thing as evil, they have the boldness, arrogance and audacity to end every argument or any ounce of critical thought by shouting the word, "racist." What is our response? To roll up in the fetal position and let them get away with it.

America is on life support, the surveillance state is here, the education system has become a liberal indoctrination albatross. Group thought now trumps critical thinking, it is currently trying to stifle freedom of speech.

We have become ancient Rome on steroids, the new Sodom and Gomorrah. If we continue down the path of ignoring our conscience and God, we will be forever lost. Our souls are yearning for truth, we need to get back to God. We must aspire to greatness and not just settle for the "culture of death" these so called "progressives" have saturated our nation with.

Listen to God, listen to your soul and reexamine what truth actually is and not what just makes you feel good.Read more ›
