Bought this set as a holiday item back in September, and it didn't get opened til Christmas, so it's way past a past a time for any action. The set was supposed to incluse 2. 10" stack and a 3 tier 4 inch set, but only came with the 2. 4" covers. Larger steamer works fine, but my bad for not checking the shipment asap.

Like all steamers, stay there when stove is on

I just put my dim sum inside on linner. I put water in a pan, water close to bottom layer but not flooding it. Stove on Medium then once it starts to boil I turn it to low. I let my dim sum steam for 30 minutes on low. I add a little more water at least once. Then when 30 minutes was up, I turn off the stove. The hot water kept everything warm/steamy until my family came to the dinner table. I then brought these over to table and presentation was beautiful. When using a pan, you must stay by the stove. Water might dry and you might burn the kitchen down. Best to use a pot with boiling water, and set these on top.
