Comicbook
It’s never too early to jump into the world of Dungeons & Dragons and now it’s even easier for children to let their inner elf shine through. The iconic fantasy franchise has just announced two books to the series name, one for learning ABCs and another for learning how to count!
In the ABCs of D&D, a child can get their first glimpse into the world of Dungeons & Dragons as they learn the alphabet—a precursor to every new path in reading. With read-aloud friendly rhyming couplets from Ivan Van Norman and adorable illustrations from Caleb Cleveland, it’s a perfect birthday gift or holiday gift for gamers of all ages; a great thank you gift for Dungeon Masters; and a must for baby showers. Complete the series with The123s of D&D, a children’s counting book and companion to The ABCs of D&D.

The ABC's of D&D is a brilliantly crafted book, filled with bright and colorful pages of the things we all love about the world's greatest roleplaying game. Adventure, Books, Creatures, and on and on! This book is an entertaining way for parents to teach their children colors, letters, shapes, and the characteristics of heroes and fair play.
It was so good, that I contributed to the Kickstarter for my copy of "The ABC's of RPG's," and then bought a copy of "The ABC's of D&D" as soon as it was published as well!
Extra Note: The differences between the two books are subtle but significant. It was definitely worth be purchasing both copies. They keep the books fresh for my toddler between readings. There's something different about each of them that keeps them further interested. We even read both books side-by-side to tell the differences between each letter's page.

Really the only negative I have for the book is that if you're reading straight through - and not stopping at every page to point out creatures and things the adventurers are doing - the rhythm can feel a little off because the rhyming can sometimes only be found after turning the page.
The reason for 4 stars is that M and N are squished onto the same page while Q gets a 2 page spread and I don't get why. If M and N had full pages each it would be 5 stars.

It is a learn the alphabet book for pre-schoolers.
I was looking for a book more about D&Ds for a slightly older child. This is not that book.
From the description, focus on... "learn the alphabet--a precursor to every new path in reading."
Do not pay attention to the misleading... "Perfect birthday gift or holiday gift for gamers of all ages."
I suppose the real market for this book is... "for all gaming parents; a great baby shower gift!"
I returned mine.
Would recommend this for anyone who wants to introduce their child to the wonderful world of imagination and adventure.
I bought it with the hope to bring my little daughter to the "dark side of nerdiness", but even if I won't be able to fulfill her destiny, I'd enjoy all time I'll read it to her
