For us working from home this is a great tool that lets me switch quickly between my home PC and work laptop, both of which are connected ot this KVm and share one keyboard and monitor, which in turn this KVM connects to the monitor and the USB cables back to the home PC and laptop to transfer back the keyboard mouse signal.
There is also a nice big button that makes switching between device 1 (green color) and device 2 (blue color)
There is a free app by microsoft called Microsoft Garage or something that allows using one keyboard and mouse with two computers, but that has two issues:
1. You still have to unplug and replug the monitor.
2. And this is important, it does not work for games. I play games with my personal PC and when mouse goes out of the edge and into my work PC, the game exits or I lose control
3. Since mouse and keyboard are physically connected to my work laptop, the only way to use them on my home PC with that app is to have my work laptop on. So this device takes care of that issue.
I have had this for a few days and I like it so far.

The button for switching devices is ringed with a light that changes from blue to green to indicate the output.
One other positive is that the device passes on the identity of the keyboard and mouse as opposed to other switches that only indicate that it's a keyboard and mouse, which is important if you have software configured for a specific device. For example, Logitech devices can be configured in software to map the buttons to different features. This KVM switch allows for that because the compute can see what the device is.
One area of improvement is that the KVM inputs are all on the front of the switch. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse, but the monitor cable has to run be routed around to plug into the front. Not the greatest design, especially if you have a wired keyboard and mouse. A better design would be to place the inputs on the side, or have everything on the back. The switch needs to be accessible and having wires running front and back makes placement difficult as well as keeping it settled on the desktop. It's a fairly compact switch, so design decisions like what I'm proposing could change the form factor a lot, and not necessarily in good ways.
Aside from the cable routing issue, the switch is great and works very well.
1. It disconnects the USB. Logitech Hub freaks out every time I switch.
2. Sometimes, the monitor just goes away. "No Signal" or "Cable Unplugged. The only way to fix this is to unplug everything from this device and plug it back in. Turning the monitor on-and-off, or switching inputs doesn't fix it.
3. The monitor will sit there and flash off and on (see video).
4. There are thousands of tiny "dead pixel" artifacts on my screen that do not exist when I plug straight PC-to-monitor (I'd upload a video, but Amazon says "Only One").
5. Occasionally, my mouse will "skitter" and "jitter" when I move it. Never had this problem before. Removing this device and the problem goes away.
6. Suddenly, my audio would get jittery several times a day. Having removed this device for a day, no more problems.
7. It disconnects the HDMI. I understand (now) that I need "active" KVM to prevent this, but the problem is that my monitor configuration resets every time I switch. Windows get moved to different desktops.
And finally, there is not keyboard shortcut to switch (at least not documented anywhere that I can find it).
Bonus note, for me and anyone like me, I think I'd prefer all the cables coming out the same side, instead of in-one-side-out-the-other. It makes things messy and hard to manage.
This thing is unusable.

Reasons that I only gave it 4/5
-----------------------------------
- The button being integrated into the case means you have to have it close to you, which forces wires to be up on the desk. I'd prefer the unit could be hidden back behind my desk with just a small button that sits on top.
- The two HDMI cables that came with it are short and cheap
Overall a good switch and worth getting

This HDMI switch works perfectly with no perceivable drop in quality, and allows wireless keyboard/mouse to be used. I had some display issues with my old monitor from 2008 (It did not like PC HDMI) but it has been fine with a new 1080p Asus.
As my new monitor only has 1 HDMI, I have switched the monitor input cable from the Switch to monitor to an HDMI-to-DVI cable, as I did not need sound from the laptops to the monitor (they recognise that there is no speaker, so output over their own), this has allowed me to have an Xbox connected too.
I have 2 Linux computers, and 1 monitor, I only have Display ports out on the 2 computers, monitor has no Display ports.
So the answer was get one of these KVM switches, no other HDMI switches worked for me, they didn't have enough power to switch the 2 computers even with 5v mains!
So I got 2x DP male to HDMI female adaptors, around £6 each, and connected it up and prayed, it worked straight away with a good blue light on the select button for 1 computer, and a green light for the second computer. Due to the fact that the item comes with 2x USB cables, this gave the power to switch the computers.
The only thing that was not good is that the item arrived in it's display box with the usual sticky Address label firmly fixed, good job I didn't need to send it back for a refund! Also on the back of the box was another part sticky Address label showing some Reverend's name in Newton Abbot! To be fair the contents showed no sign of being used though.
So a brilliant simple item that actually works, all connected in under 5 mins, you cannot go wrong if you have similar set up to mine, it will of course do the same thing on other O/S
I must say tho - The device does say KEYBOARD and MOUSE, not really HUB, so you could say I didn't follow instructions, but there was no reason for me to believe it wouldn't handle a hub.
UPDATE: I finished it out of the trash for another try as I didn't want to give up. After many more attempts it started to work and it works flawlessly now. Idk why it didn't work before. My head hurts and I'm tired but it I setup everything and it works great. This time I didn't wire my powered hub to it, as I assumed it may have damaged it.
My only slight niggle is the light. It is very bright, which if you are using it in the same bedroon that you sleep in, will probably be very annoying. It also stays on for a long time (even though both devices are switched off) it draws power from my laptop and is usually still shining bright the next morning when I start my system up again. It would be nice if it had an on/off switch (to switch the light off).
Despite that, I am very pleased with the switch box and would definitely recomment it to others
Using just the HDMI switched nicely and quickly, but the button felt as if it would stick after a lot of use, it already did once which just needed a tap to fix, but not a good sign.
Unfortunately the cables or unit itself are poorly insulated, and when switching my speakers on would mean the monitor would go black for a second - not an issue with direct connection without the switch.
All in, none of the functionality works sufficiently even at the relatively low price. In the bin.
