The size is the right one for a medium to large dog. I tried a different one - ABO as well - that was reported as 40" by 36" oblong and it was just too small for my 70 lb mutt. THIS one though, was perfect, and I can see it would have enough room for a second of her size, or one of a really large dog (90-150 lbs).

This one isn't overly fluffy or padded. However, my girl seems to like it even though it is on the vinyl floor of my converted dining room: she gets to lay on it in comfort and keep an eye on me "working" on my PC. She spends a lot of time on it, dozing/sleeping especially, so she must be comfortable on it. I give it one less than five-stars because I can't determine durability. Maybe, I'll come back and revise this upwards if I remember to after a year or so...then again, maybe I'll forget it,

Larger, less expensive, and just as soft

We had purchased two similar dog beds (different brand) several years ago, which are still in use and holding up well. When we got another rescue dog, it was time for a new bed also. We compared this to the ones we had purchased previously, and saw that this bed is larger and less expensive. The only question was whether it would be as soft and as durable. The answers are "yes" and "so far yes."

We prefer the style of bed that does NOT use the zipper removable cover with the "bag" filling. We've had those in the past, and they just aren't the same after washing. This style holds up well over time, even after passing through the washer and dryer several times.

Since this is a "Travel Bed," it came with a bag that you can roll it up and carry it in. The packaging upon arrival was a bit comical actually because it was rolled, tied, placed in the bag, the bag was tied closed, then another tie was wrapped around the bag. It seemed excessive, but if you really want to secure this thing down when you travel, you'll have all the necessary equipment.

Being larger and just as soft, there really is no reason to purchase another bed, unless the price of this one increases.

Okay day use for larger dog

I have a large dog who needs more support due to size and having had surgery on both back legs. This is really like a comforter so I wouldn't use it as sleeping bed but I needed something that was easy to tote to the office for the occasional days when he comes to work with me. This unrolls and rolls up easy, nice carry bag and not heavy. As an occasional day bed for the office, this will work out fine. For traveling longer than a night he would need something thicker with more support.

My dog loves his travel bed but I am not sold on it. It has not held up well to include having to sew up 3 of the 4 sides because the stitching did not hold. It is nice that my dog feels comfortable on his travel bed but having to sew after each trip or wash is annoying.
