The six 12-inch square cloths arrived sooner than expected in a sealed plastic bag inside a carton strong enough to protect an heirloom teacup. (kind of overkill) I used them right away to remove fingerprints from my computer and TV screens, using a cleaning solution I made myself: 50 percent white vinegar (equal volumes of water and white vinegar). Recycle a spray bottle that you have cleaned very well.. Fold the cloth into a pad and spray the pad--NOT the screen! Without pressing hard, rub the dampened pad in circles and then in straight lines like in painting. When the screen dries, the smudges and dust will be gone. A 50% solution of white vinegar safely cleans all kinds of electronic screens. Do not use aple cider or wine vinegar. It's simple, clear acetic acid that does the cleaning.

For the price, this is a bargain. (Sears wanted to sell me one smaller cloth and a spray can containing I don't know what for thirty-something dollars. At Sears at Target, you had to buy both--not just cloths.

These particular microfiber cloths are a little coarser than most, and that suits me just fine. I've experienced no problems from this fact and in fact have had a much easier time cleaning things that gather layers of bad stuff fairly quickly (like my older model LCD monitor). I also have cut one into six pieces to carry in a pocket for quickly cleaning the screen of my Android phone, which is a real lifesaver. If you're skittish about using them for this reason (for instance, on your brand new $2000 TV or something), there are plenty of uses for these beyond the usual selling point of technological devices.

If you have glass aquaria, you will probably learn to love these as much as I have. I wouldn't suggest using them on acrylic or plastic tanks (though they might work just as well there, too... I just haven't had experience with that), but for cleaning the outside of a glass aquarium, they can't be beat. Previously, I had been using some much more expensive microfiber cloths from Top Fin, but they're much less coarse and take a lot more work, though they'd probably be safer on acrylic.

This six pack will last the average consumer quite a while. I got a package of these several months ago and probably won't need to buy more for another year. The low price gives the purchase an extra heaping of sense.

These towels + homemade cleaning solution

I use a laptop and other computer equipment around horses and in barns, some quite expensive equipment. Yup, messy! I've tried the regular screen and computer cleaners, and oddly (perhaps frighteningly) when I eat an apple or something like that after typing on the keys that have been cleaned, I taste nastiness. Blah. Awful. And hard to even wash the stuff off my fingers. And the computer cleaning solutions leave a smeary mess at that.
So after a bit of googling and going over reviews here, here's what I've found that works great for cleaning up horse sneeze marks, my finger prints, dust, etc. (more than you can imagine) from screens and computers and will not ruin them or your health: These towels (they are a really soft type of microfiber). And a solution of 50% distilled water and 50% isopropyl alcohol in a little fine spray bottle(check that no perfumes, dyes, etc. in the iso alcohol). I first blow all the dust off my computer, then spray a small amount of this fluid onto the cloth. Then with the corners and edges i clean the non-screen areas. Then with the middle part of the cloth I clean the screen. I do not soak the cloth with the solution, just a fine spray or two onto it.
Presto - super clean computer that just seconds earlier was covered in grime. I let the cloths dry and keep them in a plastic bag, reusing them several times until they seem too grimy. I'm just collecting the dirty ones in another bag and when all six are dirty i'll try washing them alone, not with other items. The cloths can apparently be really messed up by washing with fabric softener, soaps with a lot of extra stuff in it, and linty items.

Size and thickness seems to have shrunk since 2010

I first purchased these in July 2010. They were thicker then. When I wanted more, I searched through my Amazon orders and clicked on the item, and was brought to this. Don't know how much I paid for those I bought in 2010. I reviewed the 2010 product with the following: Use for cleaning your eye glasses, your computer screen, CDs and DVDs, etc. Works very well.

In the description, it says Dimensions: 5 x 5 x 2.5 inches--not sure where they get those numbers. These cloths measure about 12 inches across and are a perfect square. They are obviously nowhere near 2.5 inches thick, but they are still quite sturdy.

As of this time, I have yet to use this thinner version, just ran them through the washer and dryer with no bleeds or warps to the fabric, but it does appear to be much the same as the thicker version of 2 years ago, so I am going on the assumption that these will still work as well.

When I first saw the photo of this item it thought: it looks like it was made of towel material. How could it be soft enough for my TV or computer screens? Well when the package arrived in the mail - I was quite surprised. These are baby soft.

The first time I used one of the cloths was on my two TV screens. It did a good job of cleaning them. Afterwards I threw the cloth in the wash and it came out soft once again. I next tried cleaning my LCD monitor screen that had a few stuck on spots. The dust came off with a dry cloth, but not the spots. I added a couple of drops of water and they came right off. As far as I can tell, it left no scratches or streaks on either the TVs or the LCD monitor.

I like that there are several in the pack and that they are washable. This means they should last me a long time.
