Oh, you can't get a replacement, so now I'll need to order a second pair if I really want them. There's the second star off my rating.
Once I get the proper fit, I'm thinking that they will be a fine pair from reviews I've seen elsewhere. Those reviews didn't mention the sizing issue or I would have followed their advice.
I normally wear size 11 Mizuno sneakers and 10.5 dress shoes J&M.
So I listened to other reviewers and bought the size 12-13.
I found the 12-13 size too large for my feet. They were so loose they felt like they were going to fall off.
I prefer slippers that are snug. So I returned the size 12-13 pair and ordered the 10.5-11.5 sized pair.
When I received the 10.5-11.5 sized pair - they fit PERFECTLY. Not tight at all.
I prefer slippers being snug and not worrying that they will fall off.
They seem durable. I haven't tried washing them yet but are supposedly easy care machine wash and dry.
I may machine wash but will probably air dry.
The price is a little pricier. $25 would have been just right. $20 would be bargain.
But then Totes Isotoner bought Acorn, and they have ruined this product.
It's marketed as the same product. But what used to be a form-fitting, stylish, comfortable slipper has been turned into a generic, round-toed, ill-fitting, uncomfortable, baggy excuse for a slipper.
I am so disappointed.
I am a size 7 in dress shoes and 8 in athletic shoes, so I purchased the 7.5-8.5 Small size. On the foot, these are surely the right size; I did not try a medium but imagine that size would be too big and slip around on my foot. I think the reason folks say they seem to fit small is not that the shoes are sized incorrectly, but have a poor fitting design.
Walking around in them, I get slight but uncomfortable pressure on my big toe, where the more wear-resistant fabric is sown. I think this fabric would ideally be less stiff. It also seems like the elasticity of the shoe combined with the softness in its construction results in the shoe tending to shift back on the foot as I walk in it, which also adds to pressure on the toes. Again slight, but not comfortable. I can correct the position of the shoe on my foot, but when I walk, it tends to slip back again. Take a look at my photo - you can see that the front of the shoe is very form fitting to the toes with the darker, stiffer fabric, and the heel extends beyond the back of my foot.
I have only worn these for 4 days, a few hours each day over Christmas, so it's possible some of these fit issues would subside with wear.
*Pros: (1) Very stylish, although not nearly as stylish as it appears in the advertised photo. (2) The material is comfortable. (3) The fit is good. (4) Perfect for indoors. (5) Has a very quiet & soft step, almost makes me feel ninja-like. lol.
*Cons: (1) My actual foot size is 10.5, but the size offer apparently covers feet 10.5-11.5 in size. While it fits, it isn't tight & "form-fitting" like I would like it; I can definitely tell I was on the smaller side of the scale in the size group. (2) The scent of the shoe is not natural, it has a very "synthetic" smell. I'm neutral as to whether or not I think this kind of scent is acceptable for footwear. (3) I had to cut the tag out of the left foot b/c the way it was factored in was bothersome (it is wedged between where the bottom inner sole meets the wall of the shoe).
The reviews on get a size larger is absolutely true. I'm a size 13 and the 12-13 are more like 11-12. my toes were already beginning to feel cramped 30 seconds after having them on. Then my feet started sweating. So they were tight and not breathable at all. Went to return them the same day I received them in the mail and had to pay $7 return shipping!! I could have just gone to a local store. If you like your feet to sweat this are otherwise pretty comfortable as long as you get a size larger than you are... I didn't have that option being 13 already.
