I bought Rigid Wrap to create molds of my and my friends' faces. We had a little tea party and everyone made a mask. We are all ceramicists and plan to use the molds to create face forms for our sculpture. This is The Best way to make molds of body parts. It does not heat up as plain plaster will do and because the material can be cut into any size piece, you are able to arrange them around the nostrils and allow the subject to breathe easily through the process.

I used my mold recently for a sculpture piece and it turned out beautifully. This is a great tool in the arsenal of odd tools used by ceramicists and other sculptors.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Ordered this after seeing a craft video on You Tube regarding botanical casting. The only draw back is that it is a small amount. That is good to find out how the craft works. So far so good. I have more on the way and am pleased with the product and the results.

Rigid Wrap is awesome! I've been using it for a while now doing masks and headpieces for theater, and it works great! It's inexpensive, and so easy to use. I like the fact that you can get it in different sizes (4" or 8") which makes it even more convenient to use, depending on your project. I have lots of how-to videos that will show you how to use it: http://www.kevinpdoheny.com

easy to use and requires very little technical skill. If used per directions, there is little mess and easy cleanup. Dries in a reasonable amount of time and is durable. I use it in my mask making process. Love it.

I bought this material after books and DVDs by Johnny Goode about papier mach sculptures. It's a fabulous material to use to give strength to a project. I painted a small end table with colorful parrots that came out beautifully. The legs are weak and very thin. I wrapped this plaster cloth around the legs and later painted vines up them. Makes the little table much more useable. Now I'm planning to do a manatee table for the lanai using this material for strengthening the base.

I tried using this stuff a couple times to make masks like carnival masks to wear and it just really does not work well for that purpose. It's bumpy no matter how much you try to smooth it, and after it was dry and I was gently working with it, the mask cracked in the middle. I was really hoping this might be a nice solution for creating custom masks. I think that if someone were doing a project that didn't rely on needing to wear the item and was able to cover the base with something other than just paint to hide the bumpy texture, than it would work well for that purpose.
