I highly recommend this book to anyone. I read a few pages of the next book and boy looks like another winner to me as well. Off I go to get a copy of that one.
But, how can two mismatched opposites ever possibly hope to make a relationship work when one won't accept the other the way she is? The way she has the right to be? When Adam cannot see past his past and grab for the future Lacey could give him if only he'd let go of his demons and just live? Oh those two! I wanted to smack Adam a few times and yell that he needed to get his head out of his ass and take hold of what was right in front of him. But, other than that, I really liked him, and Lacey. They're opposites, sure, but really matched well and their chemistry is hot.
I liked ADAM a lot, and am definitely looking forward to reading Dillon's story. Thank you Monique for this sexy, sweet story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book received through NetGalley.
Each character was very well defined and you got a true sense of who they were and why they felt the way that they did.
This is the first book I have read by Monique DeVere and I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely be reading more of her books.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review.
I loved the story line , the characters, and of course, the happy ending. The beginning was information packed, a little confusing and slow. By chapter 3 the story started to really flow and I was hooked. "Adam" contains mildly steamy scenes , family conflict, personal conflict, and of course a love story. Adam nearly loses Lacey because he was too afraid of the possibility of her dying to take a chance on love. I liked the strong caring protect character of Adam and the risk taking adventurous Lacey. I think they balanced each other well and brought out complimentary characteristics in each other. The addition of family rounded out the story while setting the field for sequels. The sample of Dillon's story was well written and has me anticipating the rest of the series.
