A couple minor quibbles though:
1. Upon installing the drive, I've noticed the battery life drop from 5hrs 30min to 5hrs flat. At first I thought it was merely due to active garbage collection the drive was performing after a fresh OS install but after the issue persisted for a few days, I decided to test it by putting the old hard drive back in (I've left its contents untouched) and the battery life went back up to 5hrs 30min. After searching online, I found that this drive pulls ~0.7W idle and ~1.5W active, which is actually slightly more than a regular 2.5" hard drive (~0.2W sleep/standby, ~0.5W idle and 1.4W active) hence the reduced battery life. This is by no means a deal breaker since increased speed/durability more than makes up for it. Also, this shouldn't be a problem for desktop users.
2. The area of the notebook enclosure right under the drive (away from the processor/fan exhaust) gets noticeably hot, to the point of being uncomfortable to use on your lap for extended periods of time. Once again, not a huge issue or a deal breaker for me as I mainly put the laptop on a desk. This also should be a non-issue for desktop users.

-least expensive 64GB SSD model I've found at the time
-slight drop in battery life
-gets noticeably hotter than old HDD
The SSD continues to chug along nicely. I've largely gotten used to slight drop in battery life, but the heat issue continues to annoy me. I am keeping the rating at 4 stars because, ultimately, the SSD has made my old machine usable and has prolonged its service life for a fraction of what it'd take to replace it.
That said, for the next revision, I really hope ADATA will focus on improving the power envelope and heat generation/dissipation on these because the competition in SSD space is picking up and soon there will be many more options, with higher capacities and better performance, available around this price point.
UPDATE 2 (02/21/2014):
The SSD still works fine and performs nearly identically to when it was brand new, so those wondering about longevity can check the concerns at the door. With normal client usage model, and as long as TRIM is enabled on your system, the drive should maintain performance and last a very long time.
I got a RMA from ADATA and they made it painless and easy. I got the new SSD and its running good so far with Windows 10. Keep up the good customer skills and you guys will have more customers like me. I like how fast it is and I would get the 128gb version for $10 more or the 256gb for $40, it would be worth the extra cash to get a bigger drive though because SSDs have more read and writes on bigger capacity drives than the smaller ones.
EDIT: So I thought my hard drive died again but I put it inside my other pc and saw that it was detected in the disk management. I tried to right click and reformat but I got the dreaded CRC error. So I went into disk part selected the disk and clean it with the "clean command" it was said it was cleaned successfully. I then tried to format in the command prompt but it was also giving me in the CRC error in the command terminal. I was confused as to what was happening, so I tried to do a clean reinstall of Windows 10 but when I chose the ssd in the installation it gave me the CRC command again. I then tried an install of Ubuntu Mate 17.04 and it installed with no issues. Afterwards I put in the Windows 10 install disc and went into the repair mode, and went to advance options and chose the command prompt options. When I was in command prompt I did the "diskpart" command selected my ssd and clean it again. I then did the commands to make a partition and make it active, I finally got no CRC errors when doings this. When I was done I had to convert the ssd to GPT partition, installed Windows 10 on it and now its up and running again. Hope this helps someone with that same Cyclic Redundancy Error I was getting. THis SSD is still fast and has no hardware problems as of 12/4/17.
The price was great on this $99 for a 256gb SSD my usual brand would of cost almost $200.
The speed is great both reading and writing.
This is a great drive for great price.
If I had to complain about one thing it would be the drive adaptor is made out of plastic instead of metal like the other similar drives I have purchased. It is not enough to make me not buy more of these drives if the price stays around the $100 mark.
Before we proceed: This SSD isn't going to be as fast as, say, a Samsung PRO. It's not really designed for competition. That's common sense. The price is dirt cheap, so you won't get the extreme performance. It DOES come close (if you don't care about numbers) as far as boot times, and is a complete steal for a quick upgrade to your performance.
I purchased this for my wife's desktop (we were in a pinch and needed a cheap boot SSD), then a friend's laptop, and then another custom build. All of them LOVE it. This SSD is wicked fast for what it is. If you are going to render 4K video to it, you will probably notice some limitations. If you are just an average person, it's awesome. ADATA did an excellent job.
My wife's PC boots just about as fast as mine, and I am running a Samsung EVO 256GB. Her computer has half of the specs mine has as well. I do notice the hit when installing/uninstalling a bunch of software...but how many average people do this a lot?
Do not be fooled by speed tests people post. If you are like me, and demand extreme performance, then you need to go with something better. If you simply want to improve your computing life, this will work just fine.
