5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Choice To Upgrade From HDD!
By Muthana on June 23, 2019
I suffered from a slow PC for a long time (since I purchased it back in 2013), even when it was a brand new-light PC with no programs. I've experienced the true meaning of bottle neck, now it's like a Cheetah and before was a Turtle!

The reason why this review came late (Received on the 5th of June, 2019) is because I had to take my time to test it from any manufacturer/retailer/delivery faults or damages and mostly because before I bought it I couldn't find a good video reviewing it or many people talk about it, in fact I had to look in google recommendations for an SSD and unfortunately the SU900 wasn't listed there which is not fair. I had to look here in Amazon search for MLC SSD and it came up.
And i forgot to make a review because I've enjoyed the speed too much that made me forget to review it =).

As a first time user for an SSD, I can't compare the speed between it and other competitors but from pictures of benchmarking tools used on other SSDs or written information on websites. However, with the attached picture it's a solid proof that it is quite fast and almost the same speed as the most renowned brands.
Those numbers are not necessarily observable to the humans but to benchmarking tools statistics, the only thing observable is the speed. (Note: the test was taken with few apps already installed, now more apps with no decrease in speed whatsoever) and probably it could perform even better with the right usage.

The main use of the SU900 is for the OS + most-demanding apps and games (yeah GTA 5 loading no longer bugging me, playable in Ultra graphics) and the rest, rest in my old HDD.

NOTE to other customers/users to maximize it's life expectancy and speed, make sure to:
    - Check if AHCI is enabled pre installing from the bios (if not, enable it) <<< for SATA users.
    - Check if TRIM is enabled (if not, enable it).
    - Try to relocate temporary files and downloads to a different storage drive (if you have one).
    - Avoid unnecessary Reads and Writes.
    - Disable unwanted programs on boot to make sure it boots fast-uninterrupted by them.

    - Perfect upgrade from HDD.
    - Perfect for demanding games and apps.
    - Long life expectancy (thanks to it's tech).
    - Boot from power button to desktop in a matter of less than 8 seconds fully ready to use.
    - Saves your wallet some extra $.
    - Capacity 1TB makes it not only last longer, but fits all your stuff!
    - ADATA website provides application support to check its health.
    - No complains at all
I would definitely buy a second as a secondary drive and for my other PCs in the future.
Looking forward from ADATA future products.

    For other users to compare:
    - SSD: SU900 1TB (Main).
    - HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB (Secondary).
    - CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k 3.5 to 3.9 | 4Core 4HT Haswell
    - MB: Asrock z87 Extreme 4
    - RAM: G.Skill Sniper series 16GB (8x2) DDR3 1866MHz

2.0 out of 5 stars Both of the SSDs I was shipped had been used
By Sponge Bob on August 16, 2018
I don't know what's going on here, but the box was sealed and unopened yet when I plugged in the drive both the ADATA SSD tool box and Crystal Disk Info (3rd party disc app) showed that 2.8TB of data had been already been written to the drive. They also showed that it had been used for 7 hours and started 8 times. 2.8TB of data is basically the equivalent of filling this drive up 3 times and erasing it. SSDs have a fixed life and after a certain number of writes are worn out. While 2.8TB of writes is not a large part of the lifespan of this particular drive, my primary PC with an SSD used for the operating system has only 2.2TB written to it after almost a year of use. I also have an ADATA 512GB version of the SU900 in another PC and it didn't come with any data have been written to it

I was told on the phone by ADATA that on some of these SSDs, the data writes performed during testing were not cleared or set back to zero as they should have been. Assuming that's the case, it is not "normal" for a brand new drive. My 512GB ADATA SU900 came with zero writes and hours on it, My Samsung 850 EVO 500GB came with zero writes and hours on it and my 500GB Crucial MX200 came with zero writes and hours on it. Testing may be "normal" but shipping new SSDs with them showing anything other zero writes & hours is not. Also, writing almost 3TB of data seems excessive just for QC testing. Note - I just received a second SU900 1TB and it shows 1.34TB written and 3hrs of use. If this is part of QC testing, why does one of the drive I received have over twice as many writes and hours than the second one? QC testing would be consistent from one drive to the next. Further being able to "Set back" the writes and hours to zero on SSD NAND memory would lead to all sorts of potential abuse and may not even be possible. If it was, unscrupulous vendors could reset the TBW & hours on an SSD that’s been 50% used and sell it as new.
