If you're going to buy all of these (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), purchase them from Amazon and they will qualify for the "4 for the price of 3" deal. I paid much more for these at another vendor. I'm regretting this right now.

On to the more pertinent details.

Pros:
We already have the three corner addition/subtraction flashcards by Trend. They are a very nice concept and really help the kids understand the inverse relation between addition and subtraction. That said, flashcards can be a little bit bulky when you're doing sets. The Math Gear format is just so much easier to work with. These will also travel easier without the worry that you will be losing one of the flashcards!

I also like how the Math Gear set up helps students understand the adding on concept. When you start out you can allow the students to add in order (3+1, 3+2, 3+3, and so on). Once they've grasped the concept you can start mixing up the order.

This is one of the most efficient and effective one-on-one math tools we've purchased.

Cons: For us, none.

I like this product it is much better then regular flash cards. each page has a dial and works on adding one number (ie add by 1) from other numbers so kids grasp the idea. I like the flap that you lift to check the answer its great to have the kids be able to use this on their own and figure out the answers to the problems and self check. good product

We really like this product! It is easy for kids to use and self-correcting. We keep these (all 4 versions) in the car and they get picked up frequently.

If you need to mix it up a bit, have something new in your bag of tricks for math facts mastery, this'll do the job. Kids turn the "gears" to select numerals and lift the flap to see the answers for that equation. It just adds a little mechanical gizmo-ness to the job of memorization. Works well, but it's not a miracle.
