A few changes and it would be perfect.

I bought this keypad because my keyboard and graphic tablet took up too much space on my desk, and I wanted a smaller solution. This keypad fit very well for what I needed. Couple of things though:
-Esc. key messed up the numpad layout, pitting the minus key on the right of nine, rather than diagonal right.
-No rubber on the ends of the raisers. Being that I have a wood table, this is a big issue. Can be solved by putting some on yourself I guess, but won't close properly if you do so.
-Would have been perfect if they added a new row on top of the tab, backspace, shift, and PS button for Esc., caps lock, and control.

But my biggest issue? The enter key on my unit seems to be a tad off kilter. It's not hindering the performance or the ability of the key, but I'm gonna have to pull it off later to make sure the switch isn't broken at all. Minor complaint, but hey, it works.

UPDATE: I have opened up my keypad, and the enter key's switch is not seated properly. Won't be returning it for that though.

I'll add one final thing. Play the game Osu! ? Then you'll love this. Getting your keyboard out of the way and leaving more space for your tablet. I love it. There are just a few things holding it back from me recommending it to others.

A bit flimsy and non-standard layout, but works fine.

The build quality is a bit flimsy, but it works fine. The extra thick borders takes up more room than necessary and makes the unit look a bit bulky, and the non-standard layout can be a problem if you already have the muscle memory for standard numpad layouts (which is the case with me, so I ended up returning the Adesso and got a Leopold numpad instead).

Blue Cherry MX switches are nice for numpads, because when doing calculations, you really have to make sure you don't miss a number. It's more critical to get clear feedback on every single key press, because unlike with typos in typing, a miscalculation will render the result totally useless. Blue and green switches are great for this because they provide the clearest and most distinct aural and tactile feedback on each key press.

Very Nice Keypad

It is definitely a non-standard layout so, as others have stated, if you rely on the /,-, or * keys heavily you might find they are not "where they should be." (Who uses those keys anyway, unless you are using Windows calculator? Personally, if I wanted to run a tape I wouldn't do it in Windows calculator -- I'd use my printing calculator.) Regardless, since I don't use the operand buttons, there's no complaint here.

I mainly bought this to enter numbers quickly into spreadsheets/tables and, when customers call, I'm using it to enter their account numbers. It serves its purpose well. I am usually not looking at the keypad or screen while I type, so I love the Cherry MX Blue "click" and feel that confirms the keypress registered.

If I had one request, I wish they put the backspace key down where the ESC key is instead. The upper register is not necessarily within easy reach, so you have to move your whole hand to reach those keys. Notably anybody could argue about the placement of any of these "extra" keys, so it's not really an issue. Why did they feel the need to add a "print screen" or Shift key? (Just wondering, I'm sure this was probably engineered for a specific application, and then they just mass-produced it.)

Nonetheless, I love this keypad more than any others I've used, and I would recommend it. 5 stars.

Awesome, great along with Filco tenkeyless

A few months ago, I bought a Filco Majestouch tenkeyless thinking I wouldn't need the numpad considering that I don't do much data entry.

Turns out, I do number entry more than I thought, and it quickly got annoying having to use the top row numbers.

This numpad is an awesome solution. I love the cherry blue switches. The quality feels good, and the buttons all work out of the box in USB on ubuntu linux(my PS/2 port is taken, but I would imagine PS/2 always works out of the box).

The keys aren't that loud. Actually they are not much louder at all than my cherry brown Filco keys, just a higher pitch since they make a sharp click.

I don't mind the new layout, but I have never used the math functions much in the past, so I am not accustomed to a specific layout.

Overall great quality for someone who doesn't do data entry for a living, cheap, and great for limited desk space.

if you work with numbers and a laptop, this device is indispensable. my company gave us targus numeric keypads, but they had mushy keys and a non-standard key layout. the adesso also utilizes a non-standard layout which may take time to acclimate to.

the big advantage is the use of cherry blue key switches. they give a tactile click with each press. it takes less force to active the key than an old clicky ibm model m keyboard, allowing the user to touch type very quickly.

the additional four keys at the top are useful. however, they are located too far away from the rest of the keys, which makes it difficult for my short fingers to reach without moving my entire arm. this slows down my typing, as it takes a moment to reorient myself and put my hand back into touch typing position. however, it is still quicker than reaching back to the keyboard to find these keys.

i haven't spilled any liquids on this yet, but the specs claim it is washable. i hope it is, since i've seen many coworkers spill coffee onto their keypads.

overall, it's the best numeric keypad you can get in a reasonable price range. other keypads that use cherry blue switches tend to be outrageously priced.
