I've never been able to get a kite to stay up for more than a minute or 2. But I still wanted my daughter to have a good experience with one. So after reading a few good reviews on this rainbow kite I decided to give it a try. I think it was about $14 so if it didn't work out... well, I'd be annoyed about it, but it wouldn't be the worst thing... ive had my kiting dreams crushed many a time before.Normally our kiting experience is a little something like this: we go in with "HIGH hopes", we wait for the "right wind" (which definitely tests our patience) and I run around like an idiot that is continuously throwing and catching some crap-tastic piece of plastic, with intermissions of me untangling a messy spool of knotted string. If it goes in the air it only lasts for a few moments and then it's gone... with all of my energy. It ends with me feeling incompetent and frustrated. Why can't I fly a darn kite? It's for children! Surely I should be capable. My daughter is bummed that it doesnt fly and thats a wrap....as I say to myself, "please, please don't ask to play with this thing for another year!"That was soooo NOT the experience with this kite!!!This kite arrived neatly packaged and a few days early. I was planning to add this to her christmas gifts, but when it arrived I thought, "we live in ny. Why wait until freezing cold almost January to fly this thing?" It's autumn and wind is in season!That very day I took her to the park, along with my mom. She hasn't been the same since my Dad passed and doesnt go out, or smile much anymore.This kite gave me a memory that I will cherish forever!This kite is so darn simple to fly! And not just fly, but soar! It went up on our very first try and it didn't come down until I brought it down. It was awesome!! It flies well and easily - even for people like me who traditionally have had bad luck with kites!! The string broke on its first use: had to tie a knot in it; the manufacturer ought to consider a stronger string. The "Huge" in the name is grandiose marketing: while not tiny, it surely isn't huge.

The printed instructions are almost useless, but fortunately they provide a helpful video. Overall - after you understand how to do it - assembly and disassembly is (no pun) a breeze!

Be aware that it will be very easy to lose the cross rods if you temporarily take them off, in order to fold and carry the kite. A spare one would have been nice, but it might be asking too much of a $10 kite! The spool is excellent: easy to release and easy to reel in. The kite is beautiful. A no-brainer excellent buy.
It took a whopping 6 days to ship out - but I don't know if that was the fault of this product or of another one that was shipped alongside and held things up.

My grandson was so thrilled with a little plastic kite he got that I wanted him to have something a little sturdier. The reviews were stellar for this kite and they are all truthful. I never even tried to fly a kite in my life (I'm 70), and except for 30 minutes with his mom, my 8-year-old grandson had never touched a kite. Neither of us had put one together. This one looked exactly like the picture, bright and happy. The fact that the tail is incorporated as part of the kite makes assembly even easier. The directions are printed in small font and not that easy to find in the package, but they included everything we needed to know to construct it. It flew for 10 minutes at a shot on our first outing. I love watching my grandson and this kite! All I am good for is holding it up. It is the highlight of his week when we fly. And it has been dragged over asphalt and grass...it has a few black marks, but it is tough!

The kite flies great. This is a good kite for adults to take in their back packs. It breaks down smaller than other delta kites because it has 4 rods that assemble into 2 rods. It has a few other small parts. For this reason it is smaller but harder to assemble and more delicate. Their 4 unmarked rods are different sizes. The instructions are incomplete or are for another model. According to the instructions the spine rods are way too long. Also the stitching on the bottom where the rods insert are different as described, thus the poles do not have pockets to be inserted into. I was able to assemble it disregarding the instructions. I originally gave them 1 star for wasting my time. They made amends by emailing me and offering my money back or another kite for free. They need to redo the instructions and label the parts by rod size and advertise it as an easy to carry kite and not an easy to set up kite. I am currently using a parafoil and a sled kite which does not need to be assembled. I just roll it up and put it in the back of my cycling jersey when I go mountain biking. It is small, easy, and no set up.
