I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The build quality is nice and I like the simplistic style.
They fit my head perfectly and are quite comfortable. Sound quality is great with a subtle emphasis on bass....which I like, as I find most other cans can sound tinny.
I listen to these at work...and almost forget that I have them on. The iPhone functions all work as described and callers report that it sounds like I am talking into the phone.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an on ear headphone w/iPhone mic & control.
First, the headphone band itself is made of pure metal, so it can't crack or snap in two even if you step on it full force (I know from experience). However, the metal is extremely light and has a lot of flex, which is how it grips your head. I find that super comfortable - the right amount of grip that they easily stay on even if I wear them at a lower angle, but it's a gentle grip that doesn't make my ears ache after prolonged use.
Second, the actual earpieces attach to the metal band with those little colorful plastic thingies. You can slide the colorful thingies up and down the metal to adjust height, which is nicer and more organic than the kind that moves in predefined "notches".
But here's the real showstopper: if you step on your headphones, the earpiece is designed to simply pop out of the colorful thingy, allowing you to pop it right back in - instead of breaking or cracking (which is my experience with most headphones; they always have some stupid plastic Achilles heel that breaks easily).
About a million times now I've stepped on or yanked on these headphones the wrong way, heard an ominous pop sound, cringed to myself, and then saw that that the earpiece had simply popped out of the colorful thingy.Read more ›
Keep it bumpin'.
I got a ton of use out of them and really liked them for the year they worked, but there's just no excuse for poor craftsmanship like that.
I like the design and build quality of these headphones but the good ends when you turn on the music. If you compare sound quality of these to some professional studio headphones like Shure SRH440 you'll hear the difference. AIAIAI Tracks give you some bass, too much of middle and lack of high frequencies.
In addition to that people who sit next to you will hear what you are listening pretty clear. AIAIAI Tracks do not isolate others from hearing what are you listening, so do not plan to use then in the library or in quiet office.
I tried to listen various tracks: classics with piano, electronic music, jazz - everything sounds mediocre and flat. May be a little better than cheap ear-buds but nowhere near to good even sound.
So I guess AIAIAI Tracks are good for loud environment for people who don't really care about the quality of sound. $70 is too much for this sound - $15-20 is more like it.
