Top Customer Reviews
Being a sound engineer, I was half expecting the Hi's to clash and distort, or the bass to be muddy. I expected them to sound 'Cheap'.
Boy was I wrong.
These are nice and clean all the way through, only rarely do I hear any distortion, but that's because of how bassy these are. These have a lot of bass, and lack some mid-hi's, but it's clean, and they're still use-able for monitoring.
As far as build quality, the only complaint I have is the "auto adjusting headband". It's a little too big for my preferences, but that's just me, as I like my cans secure.
It's very plastic-y in the hand, and very light. The cord is also standard PVC with an aluminum plug.
Then again, this costs $35 (at time of review), so it's not going to have a silicone cable or gold plated contacts.
If you need cheap, basic, somewhat accurate monitors for recording, get these. If you are mastering a main mix, and you need a flat pair, spend a little more, and get yourself a good, solid pair of monitors.
:-( Guitar Center does not carry these anymore. But AMAZON once again saves the day. THANK YOU AMAZON!!!
They sit comfortably over your ears and do not press too hard on your head. I wear glasses and some headphones hurt my ears by pressing my ears against my glasses, but I don't have that problem with these ones. The auto-adjustable band means that it will fit right to the size of your head easily. I can wear them for a while without any discomfort, or even noticing them.
The cable is nice and thick, which means that a) it is durable, and b) it does not tangle.
My only complaint is that there were a way to lock the adjustable band and its maximum extension. This would be helpful so I could wear them around my neck. As it is, the band usually does not extend when around my neck, which makes the earpieces fall a little closer to my jaw than is comfortable. I don't end up wearing them around my neck that often though, so it is not much of a problem.
I have had these headphones for over a year, so they have definitely stood up to the test of time.
Pros: They are not earbuds. They are cheap and they work. I can throw them in my bag and not worry about breaking them...because they are cheap.
Cons: They can cause your ears to sweat after prolonged use. Acceptable audio quality, but not great.
