The AR1450 model is an AC-powered addition to the ALEKO family of slide gate operators. Designed with a 120V AC 1.5 HP equivalent motor, this gear rack sliding gate opener provides exceptional starting torque and continuous operation, making it ideal for most applications. Constructed with an aluminum alloy chassis, it's corrosion resistant and light enough for one person to carry and install. The heavy-duty motor supports gates weighing up to 1600 lbs. and up to 55 ft. in length.

Locate site for concrete pad for motor assembly.
Dig square hole in ground approximately 16"x8"x6' LxWxD Length is parallel with gate(This depends on where you live if you have freeze/thaw then you might need bigger/deeper)
Make sure you run conduit through concrete pad for electrical.
Either embed concrete anchors while pouring concrete or do what I did and drill after concrete has set and use wedge type anchors. I used 1/2" anchors and drilled the base plate holes bigger to accept larger bolts.
I found that the motor baseplate needs to be 4-3/4" from the top of the gear racks. You may want to install one of these to get the height of your motor mounts correct.
Once electrical is run, bolt base plate to anchors, set motor on base plate and bolt down.
Set motor in neutral using the supplied key/wrench.
Install gear racks ensuring enough gap (1mm) between rack and motor gear so as to not cause binding issues.
Set gate in the middle of its travel and install the magnetic stop switches. For testing install the stop switches about 2 feet from the middle this way you can test without the gate completely opening/closing. Once you figure out what goes where you can put them in the final spots. These are somewhat interchangeable but are quite finicky. You may need to flip the motor and magnetic sensor wiring depending on which way your gate is opening and closing. See manual / board for wiring diagram.
Once those are set you are pretty much done. See manual for programming remotes and auto close type functions.
I will try and report back if anything negative happens. So assume that this thing is still working unless I am back here complaining about it :P
Guys that think it is hard to install, it is because what you received if not what you ordered.
I ordered a DKC400U from the seller, but it came with a DKL400UY manual. At the first place we thought it is just a wrong manual.
Then we downloaded a 'correct manual' online for DKC400U, and found out that the circuit board doesn't not look like DKC400U at all. After careful study, we found that the circuit board actually looks like DKL400UY. Which means that what I received is not DKC400U (I ordered this), or DKL400UY, it is actually a unit with circuit board one model, and other functions another model. We did not expect that the unit is a combination of several models. This is not what I ordered.
The quality of the unit also worries us. The circuit board is almost off that it is attached with only 1 clip and the other 3 clips are all damaged. This is because the holes on the plate are not aligned with the circuit board at all. If you want to secure the board to the plate, you will have to drill new holes. I talked to the seller regarding the issue and returned the product by UPS, and they insist to charge me 20% restocking fee. I already lost $40 shipping back and tons of time.
I am so disappointed with the service. I am not sure why they can sell on Amazon - with their low quality product and bad service, they don't deserve. If Amazon starts to have a lot sellers like this, I am not if I want to continue shopping here anymore.
Yippee, it is!!
It is such a wonderful feeling when you are proven right. The unit is very responsive, works smoothly, and does everything I need it to do. I did buy and install a photoelectric cell for instant reversal, and to ensure the gate would never crash into anything (although the force and reversal are programmable). The instructions are fairly clear and other than the professional hardware instalation (The gate and runners etc.),I was able to follow them without much difficulty, and programme the functions myself.
I strongly recommend this product.
But once you figure it out yourself it works like a dream very strong.
