The workouts in All Gain, No Pain are designed to help you burn fat and build muscle, but also prevent injury and improve your mobility. A lot of programs promise to do this by giving you a run-of-the-mill strength workout and a couple of lower back stretches. But All Gain, No Pain is a wholistic plan where everything you do—during every minute of your workout—contributes to all of those goals, including helping you gain muscle mass (even if you’re older than 40). So it not only helps you look better, but also helps you move and feel better.
As a guy who’s over 40 years old myself (I’m 46), I value being able to move pain-free above all else. It’s the key factor to achieving all the other goals you have through training, whether you want to lose fat, build muscle, get stronger, jump higher, or run faster. Having been a follower of the author’s workouts for some time, I can tell you that the core exercises, strength exercises, mobility exercises and even the breathing exercises (maybe ESPECIALLY the breathing exercises) included in All Gain, No Pain have helped eliminate nagging pains and recurring injuries (specifically, hip impingement, neck and shoulder pain, and groin and hamstring problems) and allowed me to train harder than ever in the weight room.

Bill Hartman does an excellent job breaking down the science behind the All Gain NO Pain plan including improving your stress, breathing, diet, rest and how to put it all together. This is my new bible to follow to maximize my health and my workouts. If you care about your health and fitness you need to read this book!
