Whether you’re out for a short hike or planning on a one-day trip, it’s always important to bring extra gear. With 1220 in³, the main pocket offers ample space for essential clothes, food, gear and a first aid kit. Another key component to a great hike is staying hydrated, the built-in hydration pocket and port accommodate many styles of hydration bladders. For additional storage the Baja 20 offers two side stretch pockets, a front compression pocket and integrated trekking pole loops.
The difference between an okay hike and a great hike is the comfort of your gear. The Baja 20 features a suspended mesh back panel combined with 3D mesh to provide maximum airflow and keep you cool. Additional comfort features include 3D mesh shoulder straps, adjustable waist belt and a removable sternum strap with multiple adjustments.
Nobody likes unpacking all of their gear just to get to the one piece that always seems to find its way to the bottom. That’s no longer a problem with the Baja 20. The full access zipper allows you to open just the top or all the way to the bottom of the pack.
You can’t control the weather, but you can be ready if it rains. The Baja 20 comes complete with a built-in rain cover. Simply unzip the bottom pocket, pull out the cover and stretch over the pack to keep your gear dry.
We have always stood by our promise of providing affordable, performance-driven gear. Our products are designed and tested by a passionate team of outdoors men and women. Get outdoors and Exceed Your Expectations.

A suspended mesh back panel combined with 3D mesh creates a comfortable and breathable suspension system. The main storage compartment is accessible through a unique full-access zipper path. The large main compartment and zippered lid pocket give the Baja 20 a total of 1,220 cubic inches of storage. Side stretch pockets, trekking poles loops and a distinctive front compression panel/pocket provide even more room for gear. A hydration port with pocket and built-in rain cover are both included, making the Baja 20 a truly versatile pack that can be utilized in a variety of conditions and situations.

First there is an older model of the Shasta (Green) that has some dings against it in reviews. One review said they hoped that ALPS fixes those "design flaws" They did! The back panel that was neoprene is now a durable fabric. The Side pockets now durable fabric and have additional room for water bottles and shock cord with adjustable tensioners that can clip up tight to the bag if you need them to.
-Substantial padding on the staps, waist-belt, and back, large surface area. (if you have Rucksacked with the Molle II bags and like the extra girth of padding and support, this bag will not disappoint.
-Lower back pad is a slick vinyl material to alleviate rubbing
-Easy adjustment system
-Pack design allows for the 45 deg angle load lift setting without a problem.
-Double draw string extendable entry in the top opening
-Top "brain" comes off and has its own belt for a fanny pack, with multi-zipper sections for easy small item organization.
-Both a top web handle and the wire frame metal handle make grabbing and going with this easy.
-Bottom Zipper is a #10 and WILL NOT snag or be difficult to operate.
-Not a lot of straps all over the place, just key ones where they are needed
-Tie off points- This so you can lash gear when you need it verses a mile of straps flapping all over the place.
-Dual layer cloth! While this bag may not be "waterproof" it has an inner and outer layer of fabric, this has to make it water resistant, I was shocked to see this and the bag still the weight that it is!
-Included rain cover at the bottom that pulls out.
-Simple Treking Pole tie offs on the back
-Very heavy duty wire frame suspension system and infinite adjustment space do dial in fit)
-Weight- While maybe a bit heavier than some other bags it is not by that much and the overall durability and feel of this bag in my opinion is worth it.
-Durability- Folks the photos make this bag look like it is that sort of silky thin material, IT IS NOT! its texture is almost that of a heavier canvas sort of feel. It just screams rugged!
-No side zip points of entry.
-Bottom half dividers is a small buckled flap and not a zip around. (I don't use this anyway)
If you require a bag with tons of straps and lots of zipper entry points, this may not be the bag for you. If you require a bag that you just stuff your stuff in, want durability, and less points of failure this is definitely your bag.
I will update more after a season of use is put on it but right off the bat and comparing it to another bag that got glowing reviews and having both in my hands, I am simply blow away with the build and quality of this bag.
