Top customer reviews
• High quality material.
• Connection to inflate/deflate with included air pump is simple. No loss of air when disconnecting. Other manufacturers should take note!
• Air pumps is tiny, yet more powerful than Coleman and other 3rd party pumps. Inflates faster than any air mattress I've ever owned.
• Comes with a nice bag.
• Like all air mattresses, it will magically lose some air overnight.
• Doesn't make me breakfast in the morning to make up for losing air.
At first, I avoided getting an airbed, because from my memory (20 years or so back) they were always large, heavy, unwieldy, impossible to inflate/deflate/keep air in, and would allow any bedding to slide right off, let alone a sleeping bag. Then I went on my last camping trip, and was rapidly convinced that night that an air mattress might be the only way to keep doing what I love to do from here on out.
Well, this ALPS model does the trick, and then some. It is relatively light in weight, packs small (smaller than the typical off the shelf sleeping bag), and inflating/deflating is amazingly quick and simple, even with a pump so small. The texture on the top feels durable... and has great tack to it... no sleeping bag slip and slide on this. It even comes with a patch or two in case of any punctures.
At the price I paid, every dollar was extremely well spent. Whether for the camping I do use it for, or just for an extra temp bed in the house, I wouldn't hesitate to use this.
My only real complaint which is minor is the pump does not seem to hold a charge when sitting on the shelf so I have to be sure to charge it before heading out. I suspect it might have older NiCad batteries which will slowly discharge or my pump might just be wonky. Either way it will be low in a couple weeks on the shelf which means I have to top it up for about two hours before a trip which is really a minor thing. That is the only reason I cant give it 5 stars.
I can say if you get one that has an issue work with them to get it right because once you have a solid unit it should last you years.
Still using it. Durable. Holds air all night. I struggle a bit with the pump's connection to the bed. I think you're supposed to attach it, turn it on, then rotate to "fill/compress." Also, the charger doesn't clarify if the battery is full. Red light on regardless of if it's only plugged in to wall, battery, or both. Means it's draining a small amount of energy from battery if you leave it connected after removing from wall. Otherwise works great!
After first camping trip The cordless inflator worked perfectly. However after 90 minutes sleep I found myself on the ground. Since I was in the wilderness for 2 nights I had to reinflate the mattress every 90 minutes. Unless seller contacts me to replace I will not recommend. Wife not happy at all. Cannot use as is.
And to top it off, it even looks quite sleek! I truly love it.
