AMD Athlon II P360 2.3 GHz Dual-Core Laptop Processor

This AMD Athlon II P360 2.24 GHz (Socket S1) CPU replaced the old (dead) 2GHz CPU in my HP G56 laptop. Before this new processor, my laptop would no longer boot up--after powering on, it would just hang at a black screen with a blinking CAPS LOCK light (one blink followed by a 1-second pause, then repeat...endlessly) and a solid orange wifi light. I learned in a blog that the number of sequential CAPS-LOCK light blinks correlates to a specific hardware failure. One blink meant dead CPU. After installation of this new processor (following the laptop's maintenance guide step-by-step) the laptop began with the same hang-on-black screen. Restarted again, but then immediately pressed and held CNTL-ALT-DEL as it started up, and it booted up normally, as it has ever since. I've used it daily for 2 weeks now with absolutely no troubles. So glad to have my laptop back! You'll need some thermal paste for this job (not included). Heads up if you have a G56 like me: my laptop's heatsink also needed a thermal pad for the GPU since the heatsink also cools the graphics processing unit (I think that's what it was). Ayway, I didn't have a replacement for the old pad, which I ruined while taking the heatsink off, so I put an especially big glob of thermal paste on the GPU in lieu of a replacement thermal pad (the gap between the heatsink and the GPU is about 1mm wide). Anyway, I highly recommend this CPU if it's what you need. My laptop runs very fast. Feels like a new laptop.

Item was shipped very promptly, but that wasn't the culprit so I am unable to verify if this works properly, but that's my own fault. grrrrr
