This is really a crème de la crème of eye creams. I had a sleepless night feeling anxious about something, and woke up looking like I'd just had that kind of night. I put on the eye cream, along with the corresponding face cream, and it really plumped up all of my wrinkles, made the black circles under my eyes much less prominent and overall made me look pretty much like usual. I was shocked, because my usual eye creams are helpful, but not necessarily miracle workers. This really was elevated in the effect it had on my skin.
However, one thing that I don't like about this product is that I feel eye creams should not be fragranced. This has a fragrance that initially is a little bit musky and exotic in a way that I like, but quickly dries down to a slightly old lady floral that clings to my skin almost all day. If this product were fragrance free, I would like it a lot better. I am sure that many people disagree and really like feeling that they are using a luxuriously scented product, but fragrances or so personal and different depending on skin chemistry that I really just prefer to put on a perfume if I want to be smelling a perfume all day.
Overall, this is a highly effective eye cream and I feel that the product formulation does indeed warrant an elevated price. However, I wish they would consider coming out with some lines that are not fragranced.
This cream is wonderfully moisturizing and makes delicate skin feel like silk. Does it work any better than less expensive eye creams? I’m not sure. My skin has a bit of puffiness underneath the eyes, and this cream minimizes that look and adds hydration back to the eye area. But....less expensive eye creams do that. Because Amorepacific specifically advertises instant firming and brightening of the eye area, I guess I was expecting more—I don’t see those two qualities—instantly or after repeated cream use.
I also hope Amorepacific reconsiders the odd jar design. It’s very hard to open when hands have any moisture or oil on them. I use this cream in the morning at the same time that I apply a facial serum and oil moisturizer. I have learned to apply them in orderly steps, with this eye cream being the first to be applied. If the other two are put on my face first, it’s virtually impossible to open this strangely designed jar unless hands are washed and then dried.

This eye cream is lovely. It’s creamy and smooth and glides right on. It soaks in quickly. The thin skin in the sensitive area around the eyes feels soft and nourished.
I am “only” 40, so I don’t have a huge problem yet with tons of fine lines or wrinkles. I am something of a chronic insomniac, though, so what I do struggle with is puffiness and dark circles under my eyes. A good eye cream is an absolute requirement in my daily routine. I’ve been using this eye cream at night and am thrilled to report that it’s done a beautiful job of keeping those pesky puffy, dark circles at bay.
As much as I’d love to say this is the perfect eye cream for me and I’ll never use another one, ever...I can’t. For two reasons:
1. The scent. Like other products in this lineup, this eye cream is really heavily scented. I’m not normally sensitive to smells, but this was *almost* too much for me. And it’s not a smell I especially like, which makes it even tougher to love unequivocally.
2. It gets in my eyes overnight. I wear contacts during the day and my eyes are very, very sensitive to certain ingredients found in skincare products. Eye creams are tough for me, especially, because a tiny bit always ends up seeping into my eyes as I sleep. Just the nature of products that are applied right next to my eyes, I suppose. Most eye creams have an ingredient list a mile long — this one included — so pinpointing what specific ingredient causes me problems is basically impossible. As irritants go, this one wasn’t horrible. It just made my eyes feel a little slimy, like they were definitely coated in a thin film. Luckily, it washed right out when I washed my face first thing in the morning. But it’s not especially fun to wake up to that feeling.
Now, the other noteworthy thing about this product is its price. It’s expensive. No doubt. But, as a consumer myself, the one thing I want to know is: is it worth it? Overall, I would say yes, for all the reasons I detailed in the first part of my review. The minor issues I have with it are specific to me, and to my tastes and specific concerns. They’re not issues that everybody has, nor are they big enough to negate all the wonderful aspects of this product.
Overall, I recommend this eye cream. And I think it would make a fantastic gift, as well.
