Product description
Ancient Organics Ghee is a premium cooking oil celebrated for its taste, nutritional benefits, and medicinal qualities—it is unlike any other ghee on the market today. Our Ghee is hand-crafted over an open flame and made in small batches, ensuring you will always get the freshest Ghee. With an uncompromised commitment to quality and an obsessive attention to detail, we guarantee you won't find a more pure, better tasting Ghee. Ghee is the complete distillation of butter— the end result of a long, slow, careful clarification process that removes all the moisture, lactose and casein, making it completely shelf stable AND a perfect choice for people who are lactose intolerant. The difference between Ghee and clarified butter lies in their flavor and shelf stability: Ghee is superior on both counts Ayurveda recognizes ghee as an essential part of a balanced diet and is considered to be the very best oil one can eat. It has been used for centuries as a digestive and elimination aid, for energy, sexual vitality, skin and eye health, as a lubricant for the joints and for alkalizing the blood. Comprised of full spectrum short-, medium-, and long-chain fatty acids, Ghee contains Omega 3 and Omega 9 essential fatty acids along with vitamins A, D, E and K. Our Ghee is one of the highest natural sources of CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) because we use only the highest quality organic butter of pastured cows. Our golden Ghee has a delicious caramelized and nutty taste that will enhance the flavor of any culinary creation. It has one of the highest flash points (485ºF) and it is simply the best choice for high temperature cooking. Substitute our Ghee for olive oil, butter or vegetable oil in or on anything from soups, potatoes, rice and vegetables, with eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, smoothies or popcorn—the possibilities are truly endless. Try it—you will love it!

I'll start off by saying this is my favourite brand of ghee however there is certainly quality control problems!
The last several jars we have purchased have large air bubbles in them meaning that the jar isn't filled to the capacity it claims. In this case 32 ounces.
Other customers have had similar issues.
I weighed an empty jar and it weighs around 18oz or so. When I weighed the new, sealed jar I just received in the mail, it's a difference of at least 4 ounces.
In regards to the product itself, it is very aromatic.
Just please watch the air bubble problem and fill to the actual 32oz we are paying for. Thank you!

Ghee is not cheap but a little goes a long way. I used to cook with grass fed butter until I learned that different cooking butters and oils will oxidize and create free radicals if they are heated above their allotted temperature. Since then, I discovered ghee which is basically butter with all the milk solids removed. This makes it a much more stable fat to cook with and it can be heated to a much higher temperature than almost all other fats/oils without compromising it (485 degrees F). I just make sure to use a lid on my pans because ghee tends to spit out of the pan more than butter when heated initially.
Ghee benefits...
1. Contains one of the highest natural sources of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). CLA is a potent antioxidant, anti-carcinogen & powerful immune system enhancer. CLA cannot be produced by the human body so the only way we can get it is through foods such as whole milk, butter, beef, and lamb. CLA has been shown to increase metabolic rate, lower insulin resistance and lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels. To get the most CLA, it is important to always buy grass fed ghee.
2. Ghee is rich in medium chain fatty acids, which are absorbed directly by the liver (like carbs) and burned as energy. Athletes can use ghee as a consistent energy source.
3. Ghee is rich in vitamins & does a whole number of things to aid in the process of digestion.
