Ball bearings will allow fan to operate longer and with less noise before failing (which ultimately they all will). Dual connector option assures that you will be able to get it connected one way or the other. Otherwise, it is what it is, neither deserving of one star or five.

I bought this to replace a cheap case fan in my HP/Compaq PC. Works great, moves a lot of air but at the max speed according to SpeedFan about 2,700 RPM sounds like a small wind tunnel inside the PC case. At that point it is louder than the 80mm fan at nearly 3,000 RPM on my Thermaltake K450 CPU cooler. I use SpeedFan to control the fan speed and around 1,900 RPM at a setting of 55% it is barely audible.

Plus the transparent casing and fan blade assembly looks really cool and dual ball bearings should mean long life.

I would highly recommend this case fan if noise isn't an issue. If it is, you might want to look at some other alternatives.

Very nice professional looking fan. Comes with a 3 pin PWM connector for use with a Motherboard power source/control. Also included is a Molex Adapter which is attached to a 3 pin motherboard monitor. The fan connector plugs into this if you want to use a molex for power while still using fan speed monitoring. My only complaint is the screws are pretty much a one use type, very hard to reuse them if you need to take them out for some reason.

not to bad for the price.. my computer hasn't over heated since i've got it.. not gunna go into specifics on how to install . if ya look on line there is a great debate on positive or negative air pressure in the computer case.. read up on it. it'll give you some direction to go

...does what it is supposed to... evacuates a good amount of air (actually more than the fan that it replaces)... does not make a racket... we will know how well the ball bearings do after 6-8 years...

I just went through my computer replacing old fans, and this one made the biggest improvement in noise reduction.
This Antec fan replaced an old Panaflow fan on the CPU heatsink with similar 2700rpm specs. Acceptable noise level
is a subjective thing, but this is way better than the old fan. Very low motor hum and blade noise. Barely audible whine
with the computer case cover off, can't hear it when the cover is on. It moves plenty of air quietly. Mostly what I hear now
from the PC is a steady state movement of air, a pleasant "white noise" kind of a thing. Exactly what I was going for.
Good price on this too.

I have a Gateway DX4850 27eu, with an I5 2300. I'm a noob when it comes to upgrading and Gateway really doesn't offer much help. I added a GT 430 card to it and the fps in SWTOR with the settings on low stunk; it was playable but wonky enough it bothered me. Due to the limited 300W power supply in the DX4850, I was going to have to do some upgrades before I could even think about getting a decent graphics card.

I started with the power supply:

Corsair Enthusiast Series 750-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply Compatible with Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and AMD platforms - CMPSU-750TXV2

I probably could have went with a 650W or maybe even a 550 but it was only a few dollars more for the 750. This power supply is about an inch longer than the stock 300W power supply in the DX4850; it is snug but there is plenty of room around the fan. It works great!

Next was the graphics card:

EVGA GeForce GTX560 Ti 448 Cores FTW 1280 MB GDDR5, Dual-DualLink DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, SLI Graphics Cards 012-P3-2066-KR

I had plenty of power for a card but space is an issue in the DX4850. This card is around 9" long and fits perfect - any longer and I would have had to buy longer power cables to make room for existing short power cables in the case.

I got those sweet upgrades in and then noticed that the case was getting hot, really hot. So, I needed fans:

Antec PRO 92mm Double Ball Bearing Case Fan with 3-Pin and 4-Pin Connector

I got this fan for the case, it connects with the 3 pin (there's only one wire connected to the 3 pin connector) to the mother board and a 4 pin to the power supply.

I needed a new fan to replace the exterior fan on my Coleman powered cooler unit. I needed a ball bearing fan because the fan sits horizontal and ball bearing fans tend to last longer in this configuration. This thing runs continuously under the desk in my cubicle (no one is stealing my lunch!). Anyway, I contemplated other more expensive quieter fans, but knew I couldn't go wrong with an Antec. This moves air really well and the fridge is much cooler than before. It is a bit louder than before as well. Luckily I use it as a foot rest (beside the vents) and that blocks most of the sound. I only took a star away because of how loud it is. I am sure that with a speed controller this thing would be much quieter.
