+++ Low input lag (helps the "feel" of the monitor when gaming).
+++ Fast pixel response time for an IPS display (good for gaming & movies)
++ Much better color reproduction/depth than most TN displays (common to all IPS displays - very noticeable improvement).
++ No no noticeable overdrive artifacting (can cause white ghosting in high contrast moving images)
++ Inexpensive compared to most IPS displays.
+ Large size - 27" makes a large difference in screen size compared to the 23" standard.
+ No noticeable backlight bleed-through on black (can be problematic with some IPS displays).
+ Lower resolution makes new games playable using a budget GPU.
+ Very complete on-screen controls make it easy to adjust the image's color accuracy.
+ Wide viewing angle (a trait it shares in common with other IPS displays).
- - - Low resolution for a monitor of this size (many 27" displays are 2560x1440, not 1920x1080).
- - No DVI or DisplayPort input (analog VGI or HDMI only).
- - Highly limited stand adjustments (will not rotate to portrait mode, very limited tilt range of motion).
- - Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) used for backlight adjustments (some users may detect visible flicker at low brightness).
- Monitor claims to be "borderless" but border is present (though flush with the screen behind the same plastic topcoat).
- Aspect ratio (16:9). The extra height in 16:10 monitors makes portrait documents (web / MS Word) easier to view.
Overall I'm quite satisfied with my purchase - this will certainly do until I can save up enough for a 30" 2560x1600.

Good: size: excellent price, picture quality, design and looks, 2 HDMI, 3 year guarantee
Not so good: speakers are weak (but who uses these anyway?), The function buttons are fiddly and changing settings made more difficult. No height adjustment - only tilt, no USB or DVI.
Overall very happy with my monitor and at just over £200 a fantastic bargain to boot!
Otherwise the monitor is awesome very clear and easy to use I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, at the lower end price it seems that you have to sacrifice in one area or another so maybe I have been a little tough on it with 3 stars and as time has gone on I don't really notice it at all anymore anyway.
I was considering the Apple Cinema Display but I just couldn't justify the cost. I'm glad I didn't bother as I really don't know how it could could be worth so much more than this cost. I work a lot with photography and this is perfect. I also work with 2 monitors at work and missed the extra screen at home. This works just as well as you get almost as much screen size in one device.
As long as it lasts the distance then I'll be glad I went for it over the Apple.
The brightness and colours are pretty much spot on out of the box, you might need to fiddle a little but I just use the in-game menus to adjust brightness for each separate game.
The speakers are rubbish, but I have my monitor linked up to some nice 70w speakers.. lovely.
I've had no problem with the touch sensitive controls, although if they ever 'went' I'm not sure what you could do about it.
High quality screen for gaming and working, and it's definitely the best 27inch monitor I've ever bought.
