After installing Windows 10 on my "old" Acer netbook... it appeared everything was working fine until I noticed my wireless stopped working. Per Device Manager by Intel WiFi Link 5300 was installed but not recognized. I disassembled the machine, removed the 5300 and installed an Intel WiFi Link 5100. No Good. I then tried a Intel 4965AG MM1, still no luck. It was only after visiting the Intel website I learned that Intel did not write and Windows 10 drivers for any of their older WiFi cards. Intel makes newer cards but which one will work? Only after hours of research and reading plenty forums and reviews did I settle on this card.
NET: It works great with Windows 10... Plug and Play!
Just remember ... before installing this card...
1) Fire up your Acer, go into Device Manager and uninstall whatever Wireless card in your unit is not working with Win 10.
2) Power down and remove the old WiFi card
3) Install this
Qualcomm Atheros Wireless AR5BHB92 AR9280 PCI-E Half Mini Card
.
4) Power your unit back up and Windows10 will automatically load the driver and start the WiFi application with no intervention. Piece of Cake!
NOTE: Because this is a half / Mini PCIe card you will need to get one of these
Half to Full Height Mini PCI Express(PCI-E) Card Adapters
for proper installation when replacing a full size card.
