However pretty soon, the CPU started hitting around 77C temperatures!
This heatsink does work fine when there's a minimal airflow present (very low rotating fans, perhaps if it's placed in a way that the case fan would pass the air by the sink).
But by itself it doesn't cool the CPU (which is one of the lower TDP cpus for sale today) at all.
Minor cons: had to trim one of the fins down, interference issue in my HTPC case. Easily done, but if you have a tight case, check dims. Must remove MB to install.
Highly recommended, no more annoying fan noise during movies.

I'm using this to cool a Pentium G4620 3.70 GHz CPU which has a TDP of 51W. My case has some airflow but nothing blowing directly onto/near the cooler. My CPU has never reached 70 Celsius (158F) with this cooler but has come close a few times while at 100% load. I think with some airflow near the cooler, you could easily cool a 60-65W TDP CPU instead of the rated 47W.
I bought this mostly as an experiment because I'm trying to have a low power consumption home server. I'm happy with it, but I'm only saving a tiny amount of power by having no CPU fan. It probably would have been more beneficial to get a cheaper cooler with a fan instead of saving a few pennies on a passive cooler.
Regardless, it is doing a good job at keeping my CPU at a reasonable temperature and looks pretty cool in my opinion. Just be careful not to touch it while the PC is running; it gets very hot.
