Excellent Cooling PerfomanceA 100 mm PWM fan, 50 fins, 2 copper heatpipes in combination with pre-applied MX-4 high peroformance thermal compound provide excellent cooling performance and improve heat transfer from the CPU. In a test conducted by Svet Hardware, the Freezer 11 LP successfully reduced the CPU temperature of an Intel Core i5-661 by 19 degrees. |
Virtually SilentIts low noise impeller and patented fan holder ensures the fan to work quietly even under full load. PC Tuning showed us that the Freezer 11 LP is 16 dBA lower than the second best low profile cooler in the test they did, the Cooler Master Vortex 752. Thanks to the PWM control, the fan speed adjusts according to the CPU temperature and thus the noise level remains at an absolute minimum which qualifies it as a silent cooler. |
Slim and LightweightWith a height of only 52,5 mm and the capability to draw air in from the side, the Freezer 11 LP is an extremely slim CPU cooler that fits into every HTPC and low profile computer. Its light weight limits the stress on the motherboard to a minimum and makes it absolutely transport safe. |

I do not recommend if you have a mini ITX mobo or if you have anything anywhere close to the socket. You need a good extra 6-7 mm of free space outside the CPU foot print (more if possible), in the space above a capacitor but possibly conflicting with other shields/ICs on the board.
I ended up with a different Arctic 13, ironicially much bigger and not even advertised for the LGA 1200, But it is contained in the footprint of the socket area and has nicer built in threaded holes to mount the cooler bracket on instead of plastic tabs. It was an extremely tight fit but I didn't want to buy yet another cooler to get it to fit and I already had the 13...
Update - swapped out my i3 8100 (65w) cpu with a i5 8600k (95w) cpu temps are om not the greatest while playing bf1 for couple of hours temps are in low mid to low 80c. That’s in the Dell xps 8930 case. Tried this cooler in a better airflow case with the i5 8600k and temps while playing bf1 were low 60c’s

One con I have with this fan is that the install process DID require me to disassemble my motherboard to install the plastic fan mounts because the Wraith Stealth doesn't require it. In addition, the instructions on ARCTIC's website are incredibly bad- it leaves out the fact that you need to unscrew the brackets on the side a bit in order for them to be low enough to attach onto the Ryzen plastic mounts.
Update: So I've had this for well over a few weeks and around the week after I installed this, it started making a rattling/buzzing sound. The only way I can get it to stop is to *lightly tap* on the top of the unit. I've loosened and tightened the screws and I've had no luck getting it to stop. Such a shame since the cooling is incredible.
Update 2: The rattling has stopped, I don't know what happened but it's gone now. I must have gotten unlucky or something.
Installing it was a breeze. The only problem I had was I couldn't see the side clips with my case in the way. But they sort of fell into place easily anyway so it worked out.
As for noise levels, at lower fan speeds it's very quiet but when things get spicy and the fan cranks up you can certainly hear it. Keep in mind I have a heavy case which does a lot to dampen the sound. That said I really don't think it's that loud even when it's running full beans. So as long as your not too sensitive to sound you shouldn't have any issues here.
All in all an excellent and cheap heatsink that will get the job done so long as you don't need/ want to overclock your cpu.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 1600X
I purchased this for my new PC build as not only was it at a very good price point, the reviews were positive and I have to say I wasn't dissappointed.
First of all it looks great and has a certain amount of 'heft' to it. I would recommend you read the installation leaflet and familiarise yourself with the fitting as the AM4 bracket can be a bit fiddly. I found that the cooler could only be fitted with the fan facing north or south and you need to check it will not get in the way of your RAM sticks - if you have low profile you should be ok, I was fitting 2X Corsair 16GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX with no issue.
When removing the cooler from the packaging please take care not to touch the bottom of the heatsink that sits on top of your CPU as it already has a coating of MX thermal paste, as I found out too late and had to buy some to cover it again. To fit the cooler you first have to remove the fan from the fins (you cannot effectively get to a screw on one side of the M4 bracket if you dont). Use a small flat blade screwdriver to assist you as there are small clips either side holding the fan in place. Once removed you can then fit the cooler, centre over your CPU and connect it to the M4 bracket loosely, once both sides are connected tighten the screws a little on each side each time so you can keep the screws straight and the cooler centred on your CPU - this fitting is fiddly but take your time and ensure you understand how the parts connect. I would recommend you only try to fit the cooler with your motherboard out of your case on a flat none conductive surface and be careful of any components/solder points on the bottom of your motherboard .
Once the cooler is in place, slide the fan back into position (I found this easier than taking it off ) and connect the wire to your fan header.
I have found the performance from this cooler to be excellent and extremely quiet, I also purchased and installed 2 x ARCTIC F12 PWM Rev.2 - Standard Low Noise PWM Controlled Case Fan from Amazon to compliment and my rig is running very quiet and very cool even at high loads thanks to the fans utilising PWM. I am not an overclocker but I have taken stock speed on my CPU from 3.6 Ghz to 4Ghz and the cooler has performed flawlessly and would highly recommend it.
When opening the cooler I noticed a good quality feel to it. There’s a decent weight and the fan looks sturdy. So far so good.
The instructions are easy to follow and installing it really is as easy as claimed. The pre applied paste is slightly too thick for my liking but does the job just fine. The noise really is quiet to the point you won’t notice it. Even under load it stays cool and quiet.
There are some drawbacks though. Once you attach the mounts on the motherboard you cannot change the CPU without removing the mounts which means removing the whole motherboard again. Not an issue for a lot of people but if you change CPU or try different ones like I did to test the the cooler then it’s a bit annoying. The RAM space is going to be an issue for a lot of people.
As most reviews say it’s main strength is the low noise and low design. After testing a few 2/3 gen pentium, i3, i5 and i7s I can say that it doesn’t cool much better than my dell optiplex. But it’s is a lot quieter.
If you’re looking for a new cooler to add to your build and just want to leave it alone and, with the lack of noise, forget it’s there then this is perfect. Especially with the pre applied paste.
Now running at 23C in a 20C room, and maxing out at 45C.
The box is packed a little too tightly so I was a little worried about spreading thermal paste (it comes with MX4 pre-applied) everywhere. It comes with mounts for both Intel and AMD mobos; but it would be nice if the sets for each were labelled! When I opened the box, it felt like opening an Ikea bed, and my heart sunk at the daunting prospect of what looked to be an hour's disassembling the entire machine.
The mounting instructions are straight forward if a little fiddly, but as the first step is to dismount the fan, it might have made more sense to just pack it separately (I was a little worried about damaging it).
But in the end - the AMD mount is just two brackets, two bolts, clip on the fan.
Otherwise - this beast delivers. I have 3 case fans so quiet isn't my top priority, but it's certainly quieter than the stock fan. And because it's no longer pushing round very hot air, the rest of the box is happier too.
Where I used to have a hot blast coming over my knees, I now have a cool breeze.
