Pretty cool fan that actually works quite well in a variety of situations

My first inclination when I got this USB powered fan was to plug it into one of the USB ports on my MacBook Pro. It worked well but since I normally have both of my USB ports in use for other purposes, I had to find a better solution. I discoverd that this works quite well when plugged in to a USB hub. But my next revelation was when I thought how useful the fan would be if I could take it with me and power it from an external battery-pack. It worked really well since the battery pack was the weighted base and the fan could do its thing. I used a 5400mAh battery-pack and the fan operated for nearly 13 hours continuously before the battery was depleted.

This little fan generates a nice little breeze and can be used in many different places. I've taken mine camping and use a battery pack to power it.

The fan spins at 1700rpm and the blades are hard plastic, But you can literally stick your finger in the blades while spinning and not be hurt...not that I recommend that. I have seen other hand held fans that use silicone blades and I wonder if that might have been a better choice. I can see how the harder plastic blades might crack or snap if you were to sit on the thing or something.

In any case, this is a really handy and useful little USB powered fan. I like it.

Happy with this fan. It's quiet and moves a decent amount of air. The fan can be stopped with your hand, but I would cautious around little ones as it does have some decent torque. I uploaded pictures of power draw on low and high. Comes in handy when you need to know how many watts it uses from a battery.
On low it draws ~ 0.9 watts
On high it draws ~ 2 watts

I'm a PC gamer with extremely sweaty hands even during winter. I kept replacing my mousepad because they easily get worn out due to my excessive sweaty hands. I never thought this simple USB fan will be the solution to my problem!

Pros:
-Sturdy base, doesn't wobble.
-Adjustable fan speed (I only use the lowest speed for my sweaty hands)
-Adjustable Neck
-Material looks solid, fan didn't crack when I accidentally hit it with a metal object.
-Fan is exposed which SOME people may not like, But I prefer it exposed because it's easier to clean.

XBOX One cooler...?

I bought this little gadget thinking it would be handy if it could just snap into many USB outlets I have around the garage...I found it to be a little-too-little for a garage-size room unless you were really close to it...

Then I thought I would just place in my backpack and whip out to use in meetings where it is sometimes just "stuffy". It may not be as "practical" as I thought for this use either; it's a little short--and not that this is the problem, it was that I kept brushing it with my hands/arms...

Then due to my skepticism of the XBOX 360's red-ring-o'-death, I wondered if my XBOX One was ventilated enough in it's cabinet and realized I needed just a little something to stir the air in the location. Walla!! In goes the ARCTIC Breeze Mobile Fan. It fit the USB, the cord is short enough to just simply make a 90-degree bend and point facing out of the cabinet. I have used this for over 8 months now and had actually forgot that I had it setup this way.

I was watching some "intercooler" for the XBOX One's (that hasn't been released yet), when I remembered that I had rigged this little contraption up to effectively do what this intercooler was claiming to do. And like I say, it was so quiet and visibly out of sight, I had virtually forgotten this...

Don't know if this is the use you came looking for while shopping, but just a unique way I found to make it work and be well worth it's value. Good luck!!

Great product for a road warrior in the heat

I am heading to the heat and humidity this summer for work. Standing outside was a miserable thought and so searched for a simple solution that might help and stumbled across this fan.

It is really a simple design, portable, lightweight and uses almost no power. I stuck it on and Anker 10,000 and turned it on, and after running all day, there was not even a drop of a single LED on the battery.

I am working on a way to attach it on a backpack so whether for this trip or attending a soccer tournament I can have a bit of a breeze to take some of the edge off the heat and humidity.

Great product, but be aware the fan has no guard and the blades are a bit firm. If I accidentally hit my hand or something on them will update this review to see if it hurts

The only thing it does right is spin, and even then, it doesn't provide much of a breeze, especially during the summer, which is primary when I've been attempting to use it. I've used it maybe three times since I've bought it, and the neck does NOT pose as well as it claims to. Its two positions are literally what you see in the picture and straightened out. MAYBE you'll be able to get it somewhat in the direction you want with a lot of tweaking. The exposed fan blades don't really hurt when you touch them, and I wouldn't have a problem with them being exposed if you didn't have to fiddle with it so much just to get it into an OKAY position. After only three or so uses, the other day the fan piece itself popped off the motor and I haven't been able to snap it back on. Don't bother with this product. If you want a USB fan, bite the bullet and spend the money on something that's more well-made and that's has its own stand, and not reliant on a "flexible" neck like this one.
