I've never painted before so this my first time using watercolor paints. I wanted something affordable for beginners. I will say it's five star for the value. But I'm sure the quality is no where near professional grade paints that cost $18/tube of paint. I'm just not comfortable spending that much on something that I'm not sure I'll enjoy. I did swatches of each color and played around with painting some leaves. My daughter even joined in and painted one of her characters. So far I'm liking it!

Affordable for beginners

Pros:
- Good lightfasat ratings, 55/60 colors have a rating of 3 while the rest are 2, none have a 1.
- A good selection of single pigment primaries
- Mix well
- Work well for wet on wet
- Colors lift decently
- Not very chalky at all
- Very bright, but can also be watered down for a less intense color
Cons:
- A lot of the mixes are with PW6, which means theres a lot of opaque colors. This makes a lot of nice convenience colors for beginners, and personally doesn't bother me, but it is something to be aware of. If you don't like having white mixes a smaller set would be better.
- These do not dry into pans well, there was cracking and it made quite a mess. They're fine straight out of the tube but don't expect to make a custom palette.
- This is more of a personal opinion, but rather than including a lot of convenience greens I wish there had been a Phthalo Green (PG7). I also would have liked a Payne's grey instead of the gray that was included. I understand this may have been a choice to keep costs down, but if PG7 had been included at least 4 of the convenience greens could have been omitted since they can be mixed with other colors in the set.
Overall I think this is a good set, especially for someone who's just looking to get into the medium and doesn't want to have to worry as much about mixing their own colors. There is still basic single pigment colors so you have the option to practice mixing, but then there's plenty of convenience colors for times someone may just want to practice techniques. If you don't need the convenience colors or don't like white mixed colors, a smaller set would be a better choice.

This 60 color set is a very good value for beginners. The paint tubes are a good size, and with 60 colors to pick from for only $40 ($30 with the coupon) the price can't be beat. However, there are a few cons, which may not matter much to some people but are worth noting.By Gabi on February 6, 2019

Compré este gran surtido de acuarelas muy emocionado por su variedad, sin embargo, al dejarlas secar en los huecos del estuche de acuarela se comenzaron a fracturar (como se puede observar en las imágenes) , lo cual no es normal y no me ha ocurrido con ninguna marca de acuarelas en tubo que haya probado antes. Soy estudiante de Bellas Artes y no me sirven ya que no puedo transportarlas porque todavía se fragmentarían más, una lástima de gasto. Un precio alto para no poder hacer uso de ellas.
