In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

The ASICS Gel-Ace Pro Golf Shoes haven't worn out yet. He rides the course but sometimes walks from hole to hole to get some exercise. These shoes enable him to pay 18 holes of golf and not be crippled for 1-3 days afterwards. These are great shoes, well constructed, and with a ton of support that keeps his feet securely in place, while still having enough flexibility to allow him to maneuver for golf swings. They also help prevent him from rolling his feet to the side, which is great!
If you like golf and want a great, supportive shoe for your rounds of hole filling, this is the shoe for you.
But not these. The toe box is much more narrow in these shoes, and it pinches the front part of my foot. Of course, they may fit you fine. They look like very nice shoes, and I would keep them if they fit me correctly. They fit like a lot of other brands of golf shoes fit. But if you are looking for that "Asics" fit, look elsewhere.
I gave them four stars because it isn't really the shoe's fault, unless you fault the company for being inconsistent with the shape of their last (as they say in the business).
I give my feet two stars.
I typically wear a size 10 in just about every single pair of shoes I own. I read a few other reviews saying they fit true to size so I ordered accordingly, however, I didn't have the same experience. I would recommend ordering a half-size larger than normal.
I'd give these shoes 5 stars if it wasn't for the hassle with exchanging due to the fit.

Asics doesn't offer golf shoes in a wide size so I took a chance with these - way too tight on my foot.Published 14 months ago by Ken Barney
