In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I got the shoes the day of one of our matches. After trying them on I found my toes were at the end of the shoe. If I had time I would have sent them back to get a size 12, but my toes were not poking out the end. The width was fine. Medium is actually a narrow. Comfort wise I did not see what others saw in the shoe. They wear like any other shoe you might find for a low price tennis shoe. I bought some Brooks running shoes this spring and they are soft and feel like you are walking on pillows. This shoe is by far a cushion shoe. The first day I played in them the bottoms of my feet ached. I have played several other times and either the shoe has adjusted to me or me to it. Not the best shoe for comfort or performance, but for $27 I guess I got what I paid for.
The next time I'll go to a sporting goods store and try on the shoe and if I find one I like I'll shop the net to see if I can find a better price and if not buy them from the store. As far as this shoe my suggestion is shop for something else.
Cons - several reviews state to make sure you buy a larger size than normal!
I usually fit an 8-8.5 so, i I got a 9. Length fits fine - but feels narrow, so sides are pinched uncomfortably.
Also, arches seem high for me (maybe i have flat feet?) - so by the end of a 2 hour session, my ankles are more sore than I remember. Soles don't seem to grip as much as my previous indoor court shoe (some Nike).
Probably just a lesson to be learned by me when buying shoes without trying them on.
I'll give this some more time - maybe just takes getting used to.
It is otherwise a decent shoe - not great - but usable at a fair price.
As many others have said, you should probably get a half size bigger. I normally wear a 12.5 or 12 Wide, so I purchased size 13. They were a little tight width-wise, but once I broke them in, they feel fine.
