In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

If it holds up after a couple of months I would get another pair in a different colour.
My only concern is how long they will last. Most athletic shoes I wear stretch over time until they loosen up so much that my foot moves around inside the shoe causing rubbing or blistering. I'm hoping that these, being smaller than the size 9s I usually wear will last longer -- perhaps the laces that I have loosened a lot can be tightened up to control that problem as the shoe stretches over time -- allowing me to get more than a few months usage from these.
The outside ASICS insignia seems cheaply constructed, considering the quality of shoe they usually produce. I've seen others comment on this insignia issue, so I rather expected it.

These shoes fit better than the Kayono 20's that I just retired, and they're CHEAPER!Published 13 months ago by carolyn holdaway
I've always liked Asics and there are good examples. Like the design and color, although the white on the sole is a bit bright... but that won't last long. :-)Published 13 months ago by Gregypooh
