Smaller and Smaller...are these shoes for ANTS?
on August 24, 2016
Asics keep getting smaller and smaller...it's like Alice in Wonderland.
I'm consistently a women's size 12 in running shoes. The last time I bought asics, I was surprised to find that I had to go up to a 12.5. Now, however, it seems like I would need to go up to a size 13 (!) to have these shoes fit comfortably. They are about 1/4 inch shorter, and narrower, than my last pair. Also, unless I lace them up to the very top/back lace, my foot slides right out of them - this isn't a problem I've had before with asics. Just out of curiosity, I looked at where the shoes are manufactured: my old shoes came from Indonesia, the new ones from China. So, my guess is there is a complete lack of consistency between manufacturing sites. I'm really disappointed - I wanted to love these shoes. They have a nice, cushy sole, and they look good (I got black), but that's about all they have going for them. The toe box is incredibly narrow (and I have narrow feet!), and they do not run true to size. I'd say you have to go a size up to get the right fit. I returned them and am considering trying a 13, but I'm worried they will still be too narrow. As a tall woman with long feet, it's very hard to find good shoes, and I really don't look forward to trying to find another brand to run in.
Asics, please have some integrity and get it together when it comes to quality control. Otherwise, you're going to keep losing loyal customers.
