This board was an instant classic the day it dropped. As an early adopter of the Ryzen platform we were taking a serious gamble, and Asrock brought us one of the better first gen boards for once. Now if you were confident in Ryzen, and went out and bought a Ryzen 7 and wanted to overclock it to oblivion, this probably wasn't the board. But if you were like me, weary of AMD after the Phenom/FX disappointments and how hard Conroe, then later Sandy and Ivy Bridge wiped the floor with AMD's offerings, you probably wanted to try something a little more.. midrange.. so you wouldn't feel ripped off. And this is the board you bought. Of the launch boards, other than X370 series, these were some of the best VRMs on any AM4 board. I installed a noctua 40mm fan to blow air on my VRMs and ran my custom looped Ryzen 5 1600 (then later 2600) at 4.1/4.2ghz the whole time i owned this board and it worked just fine. Only problem I ever had was with RAM speeds, and the only reason I upgraded boards later. But this is a long time review, and I built multiple systems for people built around this same board because it was *just that good*. The real shame is that asrock didn't follow up with this level of quality with the B450 or even B550 lines. If you're building now, there's probably a way better board you could find than this. But I would still argue that this little board not only holds it's own but it's better than the Asrock B450 lines that replaced it.

For a budget MB, I'm completely satisfied. I bought it for compatibility with the Ryzen CPUs, but for budget purposes, I installed an A89600 APU in it just to get things up and running. I can worry about upgrading to a more powerful CPU later if I need to, but I have no intentions of messing with overclocks and I'm not a gamer, so I probably won't even need to. After installing this MB in an old (15+ years) ATX case, I plugged in the power supply, turned it on, and got excellent results right out of the box. I had no issues with my (Crucial 4GB Single DDR4 2133 MT/s (PC4-17000) SR x8 Unbuffered DIMM 288-Pin Memory - CT4G4DFS8213) RAM installed in the second RAM slot. I installed Win10 on a SSD and am currently running two old laptop hard drives as internal storage drives. Since I'm using an A89600 APU, I'm running onboard graphics through the APU and so far have no issues with running one VGA monitor, though I have plans to run it with two monitors.

I simply cannot speak to this MB's compatibility with gaming and OCs since I have no intention of doing either, but as a basic 'home' build, I'd say this MB is so far quite solid. I think my only strike against it is with the thermometers on the board. Running OpenHardwareMonitor to monitor the CPU temp, I have encountered occasions where the ASRock A-Tuning software will stop reading the MB's temperature properly (staying at 23c no matter how much work the CPU's doing). When this problem occurs, the A-Tuning software no longer adjusts the fan speeds because it thinks the CPU's running cool even when it's running much hotter. If I allow A-Tuning to run without running OpenHardwareMonitor, this problem does not occur. Take that info as you will. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

I bought this firstly for the M.2 PCIe drive (NVMe), and the difference in system response times, coming from a spinning disk, is important.
This was paired with a Ryzen 1700 cpu, a Samsumg 960 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD, 4 Kingstom 16GB DDR4 RAM modules (total of 64GB).
I kept my GeForce GT 630, my old HDD, Blu-ray Drive, and USB 2.0 hub and all other components in the case.
For these Debian users: this works very good with Debian Testing. On installation with UEFI mode on the M.2 it recognizes all the hardware from the mother board. The installation procedure was to boot from Debian Stable netinstall CD and not install any desktop environment, change the sources to testing, update package info, then install LXDE from testing repositories.
I run without overclock, as I mostly don't need it, only need the high number of CPU cores from time to time for certain tasks. So, CPU and RAM is running cool.
This mother board boots from the M.2 and is also able to boot from the spinning HDD in BIOS compatibility mode out of the box. Booting from my old HDD worked very good, only glitch was no network. The driver for the network card is different from my previous machine, so I had to download the .deb and install manually.
I could not make my case power and HDD LEDs to work, I left them unplugged from the mobo. I tried all combinations possible with the connectors in the mobo and the connector from the case and none worked. Anyway, this case has plenty of lights and side is transparent, so I cannot miss when is turned on. I don't think it is related to the mobo, though; I think the connectors from my case are not compatible.
Audio works very well, I'm no audio expert nor heavy user, only stereo audio for me.
After 1 week of normal use I have found no issues. I use this computer for work and entertainment.

[Edit]: AB350 Pro 4: Initially I liked this motherboard. For about a year. Then the freezing & blue screens of death started happening multiple times a day, sometimes while gaming, other times while not doing anything at all. VERY long story short, the board is unstable. After much online research I discovered others who had been experiencing the same thing. Some stated that this board has unstable voltages, resulting in intermittent operation; and will thus slowly kill your other components. Updating BIOS didn't fix the problem. BIOS would forget some of its settings, resulting in one of my two 8 GB memory cards not working and staying 'reserved' for onboard graphics (which were disabled). Revisiting BIOS settings would then 'remind' BIOS of what I'd previously selected (I didn't have to change a thing), and I'd have 16 GB of RAM again; only to then experience absolute system freezing / blue screen of death an hour later, force-restarting, and then BIOS going back to 8GB of RAM (and reserving the other 8 GB for onboard graphics!). I eventually bought an "Asus X470 Pro" motherboard last week to replace this motherboard after many hours of pulling my hear out & researching & considering replacing other components - and it's been amazing over the last 5 or so days I've had it. I now have all 16GB of RAM all the time, fan control is better, BIOS is MUCH nicer, it looks fantastic and a million other improvements. I believe certain brands are good at certain things. That said, I will never buy an Asrock motherboard ever again.

Being using it for 4 months now and runs a ryzen 5 1400 no problems but requires bios updates. At first boot didn't need any bios update to run the ryzen 3 1300x but it used to get very warm because stock bios was outdated. With time it got stable. Haven't done any OC but I never intended do anything like that on here. It is cheap but looks good and runs decent CPU. But I wish I bought the B350 model instead just for future proofing.
