With all of the features, this motherboard is an excellent price compared to the other motherboards in its category. This motherboard is Tom's Hardware recommended MB for enthusiast PC.
I did have an issue with a back order and shipping issue, but Amazon's great customer service cleared that up and doesn't reflect the product in any way.
If you are looking for a motherboard for an i5 2500k or and i7 2600k, this is the motherboard to get.
It turns out, the first motherboard I got was dead-on-arrival (2 out of the 4 RAM slots were fried). Not only that, even when I got passed the fried RAM slots, I was never able to boot into the BIOS. It turns out this is "pretty common" in this brand of motherboard [...] I RMA'ed the motherboard, and got another one within a couple of days. The second motherboard _also_ had the two non-functional RAM slots, but this time I could get into the BIOS.
I noticed that the BIOS version was a little behind, so I decided to upgrade it, to see if it could possibly be the cause of the apparently dead RAM slots. I downloaded the newest BIOS version from ASRock's website, added the image to a USB drive formatted as the (minimal, badly worded) instructions specified, and attempted to flash the BIOS. Nothing. The BIOS claims it can't find the image file. Normally this would be a troubleshooting scenario, but, since the BIOS is "friendly" it does not provide any file browser with which I can select the image file, nor does it provide any helpful diagnostic output. This is the absolute worst form of "user friendly" UI engineering you can possibly do. ASRock has effectively made it absolutely impossible for me to resolve this further on my own.
I've contacted ASRock support several times, and aside from one badly worded (English as a tertiary language, perhaps) reply, I've had absolutely no help from them.
I would not recommend this motherboard, nor anything else by this manufacturer.
My only complaint is that Windows 7 recognizes almost none of the hardware from the start so you'll need to have the disk at all times because even the ethernet won't work from the start but that's hardly worth taking off a star.
I'd recommend it.
