DOESN'T REALLY COVER YOUR FRENCH PRESS

They would not replace my french press because it wasn't a "mechanical or electrical issue," even though the lid didn't fit, the glass was loose, and then it cracked. When I pressed further and asked to speak to a supervisor after 45 MINUTES on the phone, the supervisor admitted, "Yeah, I apologize, this doesn't really cover your product." I told her it was DECEITFUL and DISAPPOINTING that they'd advertise for people to buy this when they never have any intention of replacing it. She said they'd replace it if it stops making coffee...which mine did because it was LEAKING EVERYWHERE...but they still wouldn't follow through with replacing it.

The insurance is very vague and when you have an issue they are making it very hard to get a service. Since Amazon offers the insurance, I thought that it is part of Amazon. In general, Asurion insurance damage Amazon’s good name

DO NOT purchase the "protection plan" for this. If you purchase this plan for a french press, you will receive and emil like I did that says "What's covered by my plan? Drops, spills, and cracked screens are covered from the date of purchase for portable products only." This french press coffee maker is not electrical and it meant o be carried out of the kitchen for convenience. The first person at Asurion that I spoke with told me that this was true but only for electrical items and that it would state that. I told him that it did not, and he asked that i send a screenshot to the customer service email address. I did, and they then responded, that although not electrical, that it's not portable now too! Then they canceled by claim without further discussion. When i called back, the third person said that it was not considered portable because it plugs into an outlet. It's a french press! it's not electric. She transferred me to a supervisor who then changed the rule of "drops, spills, and cracked screens" being covered for portable products, to only electrical and mechanical issues being covered. I told her that it wasn't electrical, and if the press itself just didn't work, then I could simply return it to Amazon with a free replacement, so what was the point of purchasing this plan. She didn't have answer for me. I told her that her company was taking advantage of people and lying about what and under which circumstances they cover items and requested a refund. Fingers crossed my AC unit doesn't malfunction, because I'm sure they would figure out a way to not cover the plan I purchased for that too.

Absolutely terrible service. Ordered a portable blender that stopped charging within a month. I left a message and emailed the warranty that I purchased and there has been no response. I am really am thinking about stopping Amazon ordering. They don't support you, the warranty plans are nonexistent, and the products are absolute crap.
