I just want to start off by saying I loved the card so much that I had to order another. These cards and great, most people told me to get the EVGA FTW but honestly Asus has better software and performance IMO (I will talk about the software later). The price for the card is just right. It is $100-150 cheaper than the 680 and honestly with little tweaking you can match the 680 no problem.

Before I go any further, here is my rig:

I would first of all like to mention that I was considering this card against the GTX 770 and the AMD HD7970. Both of the other options are the latest generation video cards, though with some careful research I found that this video card was actually keeping up to it's competition in every aspect. This video card has been bench-marked by a lot of websites and has received outstanding scores compared to the next generation video cards. With all of this in consideration, it's not hard to catch this video card on sale considering that it's a generation behind. Though when you do catch this card on sale; it will blow the competition out of the water in the aspect of price-for-performance. I have also done several stress tests on this card in my rig and have gotten outstanding results without having it overheat my whole system. I would recommend buying this video card if you're looking to build a budget friendly gaming rig. It would definitely be a budget dream machine if you combined this with an Intel i5 4670 and 8GB of 1866MHz G.Skill Ripjaw ram.

I actually just sold this thing after owning it for a year. Excellent quality and very fast. The ASUS DirectCUII line has a very high quality cooler and the components are higher quality than the NVIDIA parts.

Got this for my son. He likes to game but did not want to spend $1000 for a video card. It was a sweet spot for price and performance. Allowing tweaking to configure it best on the games he plays were a big plus. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mid range card.

Bought two of these, then I started getting these strange texture artifacts (green halos, texture jittering and tearings), after many tries I finally managed to localize the problem to one of the cards. I tested it with memtestG80 using only 1200mb of video memory and it showed me about a couple of thousand errors, while normally working card showed none. I managed to navigate through asus support site to initiate RMA and sent the card. It's all went fine, I'd been grievously waiting then finally got my card back, but here's the real kicker: after I got it and tested it, still the same amount of errors were present, I don't even know if they touched my card at all. Now I will have to RMA it again. I, of course, won't get any compensation for transportation expenses.

Amazing card for those on 2560x1600 resolution and up. I've been able to run most everything on high with my dell 40" ultrasharp, the quietness of the card was also a pleasant surprise as I've also had cards in the past spool up like a jet engine.

I've had this card for about a month and it's been great.

It's handling Far Cry 3 at a constant smooth 60 fps. I can't hear the GPU over my 5 system fans whirring.

I checked the benchmarks and this card beats the best ATI has to offer in many categories.

I just got the card and have not put it through it's paces fully yet so consider this review a work in progress. This is the non over clocked version to the TOP card that runs at anything but stock speed, as advertized it does run cooler and is very quiet so I hope it can OC well. My card arrived looking new with just a few handling marks on the box and all the screws are there where they should be ( unlike the Techpowerup test card ), something that should lay to rest asus QC concerns at least with this version.

The card's build is impressive, there is no sag or bending when placed in my case and it does run very very quietly, performance wise I just upgraded from a 6870 and it is a night and day difference! in every game and app this is alot faster and my 27" monitor at 2560x1440 runs much snappier. Temps in my case have not changed and the card runs in the 65c range when pushed but I do have a concern when overclocking as the card does not dump air out of the case so in sli which I plan to do later upgrading the case fans maybe needed.

Now I have not overclocked it as yet, or run benchmarks, that will be tomorrow after I let the card burn in at stock first. The card stock is boosting to 1006mhz on it's own and I am using the latest nvidia beta drivers ( 18 june ), no stuttering or tearing as yet, no red screens or lockups, runs battle field 3 at 1080p in ultra just fine in multilayer.

I will update after I put the card through it's paces but so far for a small premium think of this as a custom pcb and cooler reference card that has the potential to rival the gtx 680 and match the "TOP" versions for less ( and worth the $20 over the reference designs ).
