Computer: XPS 13 (2015)
Well designed product. Little to be desired. Simple plug-and-play.
Monitor travels with me on a daily basis to work and the screen quality is perfect for my purposes. Great anti-glare design and I have noticed that the eye care features make the screen a easier on my eyes than my laptop's 4K display; however, there is a noticeable deficiency in the colors and viewing angles, which is expected of a portable monitor. My work solely consists of PowerPoint and Excel, so you could say my work is not very color-sensitive. If you are a graphic designer, this monitor is not comparable to a high-quality stationary monitor, but is likely your best option at the time of this writing if you are set on a portable monitor for travel.
Less importantly, the case-stand is very sleek and effective in its design. I was very skeptical at first with the three small patches/notches to angle the laptop, but now I wouldn't want them any other way. I think they really complement the "simple, yet high quality" essence of this product. Lastly, the whole thing is extremely light and fits perfectly into my medium sized laptop backpack.
Pros:
Product design
Screen quality
Super lightweight - Can pick up with two fingers
Innovative case / stand
Cons:
Poor colors
Other Thoughts: I have tested the monitor with other laptops using a USB A to USB Type-C, and I can confirm it will not work. Only purchase the Type-C version if your laptop has a Type-C port. Otherwise, I recommend looking at the MB169B+ version.
Do not believe the 'first look' reviews, which are nearly all of the articles and videos on this so far. The Asus rep at the Jan 2016 shows, must have told every person who filmed for their websites misinformation. They all mentioned that this could also work with USB 3.0 with an adapter. It will not. Asus themselves set up a Q&A page. Here is one answer.
"Q4: Is MB169C+ backward compatible with USB2.0/3.0 devices?
A: No. All current USB2.0/3.0 devices do not enable “DP Alt Mode” or “DisplayPort over USB-C” and therefore cannot connect to MB169C+"
So make sure you have a DP Alt Mode USB-C and you'll be golden, with zero drivers needed. Otherwise avoid.
It's great quality, IPS and 1080 display and I love using it for playing tv/movies (I'm playing Hulu now on it while writing this review). My only real complaint is that it's not the brightest monitor (I've seen complaints that this is due to how the Pixel charges it, but I'm not sure). If you own the Pixel I would estimate it's max brightness to be equal to the Pixel at about 60%. It's definitely not bad, but there are situations where I wish it were brighter. The monitor is incredibly light, and the case/stand that it comes with is fairly intuitive and definitely makes the monitor feel secure. It also seems to drain the battery life very little - I've been getting 7-8 solid hours with it plugged in easily, and I'm a reasonably heavy user. I would estimate I get 8-9 without it plugged in.
The biggest issue with the device is that it is not well suited for the time of its release. USB C is a great idea but it has yet to truly catch on. What is needed is a solution that allows those who want a device that will work with USB C down the road but still be able to enjoy the same experience with their older machines today. This is something that ASUS just does not provide.
I have plenty of devices that have display port compatibility yet don't have USB C. If ASUS provided a solution like a power adapter with a display port plug in, I would be raving about this device. Instead, I'm thinking I'll just return the thing. I'd much rather opt for a solution that works for me rather than a solution that wants me to work for it.

The first has been mentioned by a few reviewers here, and that's that the cord is quite loose. If you put this on a stand and don't touch it, you'll be fine. But if you knock it AT ALL, your unit will disconnect. To remedy this, I've just molded some sugru around the make part of the cord that links to the screen. that works to hold it in place.
The other drawback that I have found is that the resolution is funky and I can't find a driver to get the size of the page or program I'm viewing to match the size of the screen. That said, I'm not terrible tech savvy, and it's entirely possible that someone more adept than me would be able to fix this pretty quickly.
I would definitely buy this again. :)
The only thing I would criticize is that the colour is not as vivid as most laptop's build-in display or as iPad. But since this is a portable monitor and I should not compare them anyways.
Overall, satisfied!!!
