I love the headphones don't get me wrong and the easy to get to ability to adjust high mid lows and base is nice its pretty seemless set-up but it doesn't have instructions to switch between modes. I had to iterally look up the manual on a 100$ "99$" product seems like 50cents on paper would be in that price. I just assumed with asus you have grb control ateast idk for this much you probably could get headphones that do more they are great quality but, maybe not 100$ quality I expected

A bit big for the short battery life

The ROG earbuds are easily twice the mass of some other pairs I've had which, in general, lasted at least a couple hours longer than the ROG buds. I won't mention brands here for obvious reasons, though I can say I never used any Apple or Samsung earbuds, so I can't compare with those. The sound quality is reasonably good, and cycling through noise cancelling is decent. The only other issue I have is the recharge box. It's not the most intuitive thing to open when, say, you're in a darker area and can't see it properly. There's alot of feeling around for which way is what... they would have probably done better with a straight up square or cylindrical box.

Decent gaming earbuds but noticeable latency

UPDATE: I'll be honest that after I made my initial review below in Jan '23, I only used them the one time before I made the review. They've just been sitting on a shelf since (I still charged the case every so often). But I decided to use them again recently and the battery has seemed to have degraded pitifully. After just one hour of only listening to music, they dropped to 70%. I just took them out at that point. I'll probably add another update if I decide to wear them til they die to see if the 4-hour runtime still holds up, but the battery drainage after one hour of use after only 5 months of sitting on a shelf is terrible.

Having never owned a pair of gaming earbuds and reading about how they're basically a love-hate kind of product, I took my chance with these. They work really well. I used them for 4 hours straight while gaming and they never gave me any pain or discomfort. I didn't drain the battery in one sitting, but 4 hours really surprised me. Received a low battery warning 3 times near the 4 hours mark so I assume they will last 4 hours and some change. Sound quality is great but the low-latency, while ok, could be better. It is high enough to the point of just being barely noticeable but low enough to the point that it's forgettable and not distracting.

Can't really comment on noise cancellation as I don't play in a noisy environment as most people don't, especially when gaming. But with most objects like earphones that go into your ear holes, surrounding noises are blocked for the most part.

Build quality of the case does seem fragile and cheap but unlike what some have said, I don't have issues opening it. It literally has a slit in the front where you put your finger/nail in. Also can't agree that it's a fingerprint magnet. The finish is smooth and easily cleaned.

Can't attest to/don't care about the mic quality as I don't use a mic.

One thing I really love is the RGB lighting on the case which isn't customizable, unfortunately. The buds themselves only display blue and red for functionality/status purposes.

The respective app, Armoury Crate, is dull and annoying but does the job on both PC and mobile regarding EQs, sound profiles, etc. Bluetooth connectivity is simple but the buds only work on one device at a time. I initially connected to my phone but then disconnected and attempted to connect to my PC. My PC would not detect them at all and I could not figure out why. They weren't showing up in the Armoury Crate PC app either. So if you intend on using them on 2 devices, you must remove them from your Bluetooth devices in one device so the other device can detect them and connect. I don't know how this works, but it saved me a headache when I figured it out. There is no gaming mode in the PC app, however. So you will need to hold down the right earbud to enable gaming mode.

The left earbud, similarly to what some reviews say, is, or may be, faulty. When I took them out of the case for the first time after letting them charge, the left one dropped suddenly to 50% while the right stayed at 100%. It didn't want to charge and at one point when connecting it to my PC, it didn't want to work. I didn't do anything to fix this as it seemed to self-correct. Momentarily happened with the right earbud as well. The battery for the left also seems to not be able to hold as strong a charge. This could possibly be due to the microphone being in the left earbud causing it to use more battery. This is a common problem with AirPods, but I can't confirm. All was well after this point during my gaming session, nonetheless.

My only real gripe is the lack of a dongle. Dongles effortlessly prove to be superior when it comes to seamless connectivity and eliminating latency. If you can, go for the Soundcore VR P10s. Same price (at the time of this review) as the ROG Cetras, but with even better sound and virtually no latency due to the dongle. I have both and highly prefer the P10s but will still recommend the Cetras.

Overall, really decent gaming earphones for an affordable price if you can handle and ignore some very subtle latency. I've only had them for a day, but I will update my review accordingly should they break or quickly degrade.

I overall like these alot. Small and fit well. Do not fall out as I expected and stay in place. Get the armoury crate app on phone and PC/laptop for further customizing of the sound and update the firmware. Firmware is only updatable with the phone app and does not have a dongle. Good sound when you customize them. But on the go these are great for a steam deck or the new Asus ally coming out soon. More info May 11th through BestBuy for that. I am definitely getting that as well. It is $699 for the most powerful model which I would recommend and runs windows 11 so Xbox game pass ultimate will be playable on the go along as almost any PC game. Literally a handheld PC/laptop!
