Purchased on 5/31, Arrived 6/09.
(9 Days) was free shipping over $49.
-Box arrived undamaged.
Upon opening the box, it had all components. Nicely individually wrapped. It included
-ASUS VIP Member Notice
-Quick Start Guide.
After taking everything out of the box it was EXTREMELY easy to assemble. I can't stress that enough, a 12 year old could figure it out. The cords had caps on them to prevent dust and bending of the pins but again were simple to take off.
On the back of the monitor, it had
-3.5mm audio port. (Needs input from HDMI cable)
After putting it all together, the final product was beautiful.
-It worked perfectly!
-There were no dead pixels.
-The colors were vibrant.
-The images and letters were sharp.
-The picture is just amazing.
-The quality is outstanding.
It was just perfect. I LOVE this product and I'm 100% completely satisfied with my purchase. I did not receive a discount for my review either.
I would DEFINITELY recommend.
UPDATE: It's been a month since I purchased it and still had no problems with it.
However, about a month ago I started to notice a small circle of dead pixels on the bottom of the screen. I initially ignored it, but the circle slowly grew over the course of a few weeks to the point where it was affecting my ability to select icons at the bottom of the screen. I contacted customer support and was initially to try and press on the circle with a damp rag. I followed the instructions, but when the problem was not resolved, I was told I could ship the monitor to ASUS for repair.
After waiting for ~2 weeks after shipping, I was contacted and told the repair was not actually covered under warranty because there was "physical damage" to the screen and they requested that I pay $70 for the repair, which is basically 2/3 of what I paid for the new screen. This monitor simply sat on a desk the entire time I owned it and there was absolutely no physical impact to the area where the pixels were damaged. The only time any pressure was applied to the screen that could have caused "physical damage", it would have been when I pressed on the screen at the direction of their customer service representative.
I told this story to multiple contacts and was continually told there was nothing I could do except pay for the fix. When I asked to be referred to a manager, I was sent a general hotline number and then the next day, they shipped back my still damaged screen without first notifying—I found out through a FedEx shipment notification.
– The monitor is fine for the price, as long as it doesn't break
– Questionable longevity: my screen experienced dead pixels for no reason
– Awful customer support: they refused to honor my warranty because the screen was "physically damaged", when it absolutely was not.
So, I contacted ASUS support and the representative helping me wasn't surprised by my issue (doesn't seem to be a new one either). He told me essentially too much electricity is being built up in the monitor and it needs to reset. The idle light will be on for the monitor, but the menu button doesn't work. It will power up and down fine, but afterwards the screen will go black and the green light will turn amber for it going in idle mode. It doesn't matter if I switch any of the cords/outlets--I've tried it all. I am forced to unplug my HDMI and power cable and reset my monitor with the power button (holding it down for 60 seconds). This is the most frustrating and disappointing thing ever. It started happening multiple times a week. So I've resorted to physically unplugging my monitors when I put my computer to sleep now. An unnecessary hassle I shouldn't have to be doing.
Display-wise... when everything else is working I have no complaints. They're light-weight and seem study.

The colors are excellent, as is the refresh time. Has ports for the majors (DVI, VGA, HDMI).
Provided cords are regular quality.
Monitor is nice and light, easily sits on my VIVO Dual Monitor Stand.
Presently I have one in Landscape mode, and one in portrait mode, which works excellent - the extra real estate really helps reading websites or designing portrait graphics.
The IPS is great for different viewing angles, and really doesn't need to be head on to look at, which keeps the colors true. The bezel is not too thick, which works great for dual monitor applications. Can't comment on the stands, as I've never used them, but they were pretty low and offered minimal adjustment.
Buttons are a little mushy to use, not overly responsive and clicky, but now I'm just nit picking.
Both monitors have no dead pixels and have been run for roughly 10-15 hours a day for the past 6 months. There's no hum, minimal heat generated and absolutely no flickering.
If you're on a budget and are looking for a monitor that performs out of it's weight class, consider one of these.
EDIT: now have three running full time as of march 2016. not even a flicker of an issue on a single one.
The picture on the monitor is okay but the viewing angles definitely have some room for improvement especially this being an IPS panel.
I've loved ASUS as a company for years now but I'm so disappointed in them for even selling this monitor with the stand it comes with. I'm not sure if they collaborated with AliExpress or a local dollar store but the quality of the stand that comes with this monitor is absolutely HORRIBLE. It's built horribly, looks cheap and very wobbly.
If I had a rating to give the monitor on its own, it'd give it a 3 star but because of the stand, I have to give it a 2 star. Do yourself a favour and get a BenQ monitor, you'll definitely be happy with that.
Overall the screen is beautiful
Price is good 175$
Poor rating because it's very complicated to set
