+ Extremely lightweight
+ Stylish, gold front with an almost infinity edge
+ Adjustable tilt stand
+ Nice picture (I'm not a gamer so can't comment on refresh rates)
- Horrible speakers. I'm using this as a second monitor so you might want to look elsewhere if sound is important.
- Stand does not have vertical adjustment
- Power button is to the left of a pop-out light, so I kept trying to push the pop-out light to turn on/off until I got used to it.
Decent resolution although not so apparent as an improvement from my 24 inch
Minimal frame outside screen so nice clean design
Matte black surface which minimizes glare
Key - only cover sRGB color gamut, not Adobe RGB and that makes a big difference in colors for landscape photography
Bottom section is gold for some strange reason which detracts from the otherwise neutral black feel of the rest of the monitor
Stand is flimsy, and will not adjust in height, and monitor will not swivel on horizontal axis
Even after color balancing calibration could not get colors to look right
No USB ports and no SD card reader (yes I should have noticed that)
Now to be fair the items I really wanted were not in this lower priced monitor so my fault, but it isn't great for photo editing as a result
I personally would like it if you could make the screens even darker than their lowest setting for working in the dark, but I'm unusual. Great product.
I went on my 4K TV hook up my laptop and scale down to 1080p at 100% am like how on earth does a 50" TV looks better at 1080p than a 23" monitor? The smaller Resolution should be superior because it has more pixel density .... but why, I then went to my old 1280×800 display and wow they are almost identical.
This product makes me sick it only looks beautiful on the outside but the display is disgusting. The square pixel on the screen are very big when I look in closer thats if your eyes are good as mine you can see them.
This can never be a 1080p monitor it's already been zoom up to that Resolution. I should return this peice of Junk!!!
I am very disappointed. It matches 1366×768 display ... 100% fake even the low Resolution monitors at work looks better than this. Wish I didn't make this purchase. Asus never again
Updated: Also when I duplicate the displays the monitor zoom in my laptop screen. I know they might view this and fix future products but truth is a fake is a fake.
When they look up my product history, they can be convinced to look through it. They have no ability to apply thinking or logic. Instead, I get to wait on the phone while some non-english speaker walks me through several button holding sequences (which will obviously not work because the monitor smells like it's been on fire inside).
Then I get to find a box, and ship it back carefully packaged. If I don't do a fantastic over the top job, they are very clear in the instructions that this will be their excuse to decline to repair it.
I bought an ASUS in 2013 and it is on 24/7 without any issue.
After this current experience however, I will never buy another ASUS product again.
Top reviews from other countries
-Minimal backlight bleed on the edges
-Great picture quality
-Very light weight for a screen this size
-Managed to get my order in before the price nearly doubled
-Super easy to setup
-Came with both HDMI and VGA cables, was surprised by VGA as that has been obsolete for many years
-Great for movies and internet stuff
-Did not come with a user manual, didn't need it as everything was straight forward though
-I would not consider this a gaming panel as no freesync or higher hz. Didn't buy it for gaming though
-No height adjust, currently hunting down a 3/4" board to sit it on to match the height of my other screen
-No display port plug. Many video cards (especially nVidia) have way more displayport plugs than HDMI thus needing an adapter if doing more than 1 screen.
-No vesa mount option
-Not a con to me but may be for some, no built in speakers. I got 5.1 surround sound on my PC already. cheap low profile speakers tend to sound bad anyhow so I would prefer no speakers over garbage speakers.
I run dual monitor setup at home and I already got a good gaming screen (144hz freesync) but my second monitor from 2007 needed to be upgraded to something better. Decided on a nice IPS panel due to the benefits of IPS over TN and the 60hz is not going to be an issue as its main use will be for watching videos and doing stuff on the internet. Most videos are either 30 or 60 fps so I didn't need higher. My glasses have a blue blocker in them already so never tried the blue light filter option on the monitor, seemed to be a bit too redundant to me. For the amount I paid for my screen I think I did get a great value for it and does do the job I am using it for well.
