1. No noticable display lag.
2. Perfect picture.
3. Plug and Play. No drivers required. The USB is just used for power.
1. The construction feels very cheap and lightweight.
Plugged it in and worked excellent right out of the box at FULL Resolution. The sound and Isight Camera take some tweaking. (Isight camera tweaking is Windows fault). When I plugged the DP400 in my speakers were not balanced and the app to control audio BALANCE had no effect. Quick call to Tech support at Atlona, told me to pull USB and try different USB port. That worked great. The Isight camera works even though windows has the ! saying no driver installed. Go to Yahoo Messenger or Skype, try it out, you will see it works fine. IF you want to eliminate the annoying ! (No driver found): Go to Devices, Right Click on Display Audio (what Windows 7 named the camera), Properties, Hardware, Display Audio (yes Display Audio again), Change Settings, Driver, Update Driver, Browse My Computer, Let Me Pick from List. NOW choose Image, Generic, 1394 Desktop Camera. You are done ! is gone. Driver is useless but it does eliminate the annoying !.
Read a lot of reviews that stated they can't get full resolution. Verify: Graphics card supports DUAL DVI, and is capable of 2560-by-1440 resolution. Single link max resolution is 1920 x 1200. So if you are getting that resolution, that is the problem.
PC OWNERS do not throw away that old monitor! With the Apple Cinema displays you will NOT be able to view your Bootup screen or be able to see the BIOS information. Apple Cinema only displays 3 resolutions, lowest being 720p (may be wrong on the exact number but know its not low enough for a PC).Read more ›
