About the consistency of Vaseline. Used everywhere one metal part meets another. Glad I bought this helpful product. Made installing lip seals easier and held washers and check balls in place. Used to pack the oil pump gears and other metal to metal parts like bushings. Transmission fluid simply isn't tacky like this and that stuff gets pretty much everywhere. Used a small amount of both trannie fluid because a little of this stuff goes a long way. Seems to have a low melting point so should help when the transmission is hooked up and ready to blow and go.

This stuff is indispensable for transmission rebuilding. Not only is it fully compatable with transmission fluid and therefor transmission parts, but it is a great helper durring assembly. Like regular great, assembly lube can be used to "stick" part together. Things like rollers, balls, and plates etc. the only difference, aside from being ATF compatable, is it is very sticky. This stuff really holds stuff together making some parts of transmission assembly much easier. Also, and bearing and bushing you know it will be in place no matter how long the trans sits before its first use.

Giant jar of this stuff will last you for a long time. You can also use it to make the valve cover gaskets stick in the grooves when you are trying to re-assemble the valve cover back onto your engine. It will make the gasket stay put. Then when you drive, the stuff just melts away into nothing.
