There was some debate in the other reviews and questions about whether or not this remote included the battery. The one I received came with the battery and a plastic tab to pull out to activate it. I don't know yet how long the battery will last. I've had it for a couple of months, and while it continues to work, every so often, it will act like the battery is a little weak and you have to stretch your hand out to get it a little closer for it to pickup and work. But then at other times, it will just work with no issues (which is most of the time).
Even the mouse cursor control works well on this remote. I had also tried an ATIWonder remote that was supposed to work on the Pi, but on it, every time I used the mouse cursor, it locked up the Pi which had to be power-cycled to recover. But not this remote. On this remote, the mouse cursor functions work correctly.
So quite a nice remote for the price and is plug-and-use ready for the Pi with OpenELEC/Kodi. I'm pleased with it.
